| The "Fishing Village" |
| Submitted by roxy on 2006-11-09 01:32:00 (via www.wired2theworld.com) |
| Imagine getting to explore a village from the comfort of a… boat. It’s possible in Vietnam, where the Mekong River rises and reverses its flow back into the Tonle Sap Lake. It’s when the entire community packs up their homes and moves to higher ground, and only curious tourists remain “boat-touring”, to admire the unique views.

Very interesting article! And it's hard to imagine, too. I just cannot think how it would be moving all the houses in a village or in a small town twice a year, according to the tide level! In this sense Vietnamese are quite inventive. They transformed this practivce into a touristic attraction. But most of all I liked the part with the Siem Reap massage session. I too have tried different types of massage, both softer and a bit more paiful, but I am not sure I would like to try this kind of massage, but who knows… You know… Never say never. |
