Camel Trekking in Timbuktu
Submitted by kiwi on 2007-02-02 08:37:45 (via www.moxon.net)
People get fascinated about different things when traveling to a certain destination. This time the remarkable thing to fall for was the desert: the khaki sand dunes, the olive scrubland and the light blue sky, all in this camel rocking rhythm combined with the deadening effect of the sand sucking up all the sound around.

It's a bit shocking for me to live in the desert, to have a tent instead of a house and to slip outside the house, under the stars. Plus, use as transportation extremely uncomfortable camel backs, which are not even faster then a normal human walk pace. But who cares about time and rush in the desert? I believe this must have been a really special experience; it has something surreal in it.
