The Grumpy Edinburgh

Edinburgh was once voted as one of the nicest and most picturesque cities in Europe; it gives a sense of wonderment to all that roam the streets for adventure, relaxation or just plain having to go to work.

I would have to agree with you. Indeed Edinburg is a very beautiful city. But did you say modern? Maybe only the people and the fashion shops?

Hi Roxy, modern as in say not crumbling and forgotten about, beautiful and sought after as a home and a holiday destination. Old yet modern in the sense that it equals and surpasses many other cities and retains its popularity and distinction through a unique blending of the old to showcase the new!

Hello roxy .....Ach, Edinburgh (the city were I lived for twenty years) - I suppose I meant modern in the sense of it being in the ranks of keeping up with newer cities as a tourist destination and as a captial and finaincial hub for Scotland! Modern, in the sense of activity and its growing ptential rather than looking at 200yr old buildings and the fact that it copes with its 'oldness' in a modern way!

I didn't really mean all that but I had to write something here ........

Hello again,
I think I got what you meant:)
And I liked your approach about "I didn't really mean all that but I had to write something here ........"
Keep up with traveling and writing great articles!

Sounds about right to me, though I only really find Edinburgh busy in the summer months as it's too cold for most tourists the rest of the year. Originally from California, I now live in Edinburgh and can tell you out of all the cities I've travelled to in the world, Edinburgh is the most amazing. It's got a certain sole to it that a lot of places lack.
