| Paris can be enjoyed even in its worst heat, because you can refuge in the coolness of its wonderful museums: the Louvre, Mona Lisa's home; the Musee d'Orsay that houses paintings and sculptures done around the time of the French Impressionists, or the Pompidou Centre dedicated to modern art. You still will love it.

Paris isn't perhaps as deliously magical as it can be portrayed in movies and things, but it is a city full of culture and interesting people.
It is of course worth going. Far more worth than anywhere in North America. |

Hello Photoenvy,
I know that Europe is the cultural center of the world, Paris is indeed a beautiful city... You know, I have learned the French language for 10 years, when I was in school, and of course I have studied something of the French culture and history. But sometimes it feels that Paris, like Rome and Athens, is becoming one of those polluted cities with a big past. |

When I hear the word museum I imagine boredom and a boring, dark and cold history museum comes to mind. Maybe that's because I have this bad association. But what is there to see in Paris?
Maybe it is a nice place, but isn't it more because of the image it has created around the world as a romantic, fascinating place, while it's just a big city with bad air and endless noice, junky places, etc.? |

What can I add? Since my nickname is "Paris", nothing more could be said. Anyway, I'm surprised that "dickandwitta" couldn't find a hotel with AC, because everytime I was in Paris I used to stay in the same two stars hotel and it was OK with AC. It's difficult for me to say something about Paris (with its "black" and "white" points), simply because I'm in love with the city and this "love" is endless. |
