| Alcatraz |
| Submitted by roxy on 2007-05-04 05:02:56 (via www.amwest-travel.com) |
| Alcatraz Island, from its opening in 1934 until it was closed in 1963 was America's most well known and infamous prison. Now, it is one of San Francisco's most popular tourist attractions. It is just incredible that authorities could transform Alcatraz in a touristy attraction, in which people are willing to pay for being treated like prisoners.

Now, this I don't understand - why whould you pay to live like a prisoner? I guess poeple often need the alternatives to be able to appreciate what theyve got.
I'm curious how much is an American willing to pay for such an experiences? |
