Two ambitious Californians left their sunny state embarking on a journey through Serbia. Happily, the local attractions, the people and the food didn't disappoint. Even more, the trip proved to be more than enriching, as they discovered unexpected skills in other languages while their Serbian and the natives' English were limited. Serbia inspires!

A journey to Cyprus
Submitted by lisa on 2007-07-10 04:50:08 (via
Cyprus has been especially significant as the crossroads of European history. Myth and fact weave and intertwine in its history and one can easily find scenes that would, at least for the moment, make its mythology seem perfectly feasible. But there is more to fascinate the visitor than just history, the sunny Cyprus has something for everyone.   More...

Rafting in Bosnia: A Landscape of Incomparable Splendor
Submitted by christine on 2007-07-10 01:45:16 (via
Bosnia is more than a rugged country. It’s a way of life that demands extreme outdoor sports. For the author, her unintended first-ever whitewater adventure resulted in waiting for death's sweet kiss. Hopefully, everyone avoided a sad ending and continued discovering Bosnia - irretrievably scarred by war, but infinitely capable of renewing herself.   More...

Parting the Red (and white) Sea... Running with the Bulls in Pamplona
Submitted by withoutarope on 2007-07-09 06:43:20 (via
We all slept through our alarms and finally woke just in time to race down the stairs and straight onto the first bus of the morning with Nathan shirtless and still pulling his shoes on to his feet. We were heading to the square in front of the town hall. We were going to join in the Encierro, the Running of the Bulls.   More...

Skiing, Skolling and Splitting Skulls in Andorra
Submitted by bindero on 2007-07-09 04:19:49 (via
Andorra is said to have some of the most dramatic scenery and best skiing of the Pyrenees and it rarely disappoints. Needless to say that the morning being ideal to hit the slopes leaves the afternoons free for a range of inebriating activities. Beware - it is a tax free country and one can easily find himself enjoying hangovers in a hospital ward!   More...

Portugal – December 2005
Submitted by roxy on 2007-05-24 04:18:32 (via
Lisbon can indeed maintain the chic of a very modern artsy city with the reminiscences of the trendy old Arab and the grandeur of the imperialistic style. You can witness this by visiting the Praça do Comércio with the Arco da Rua Augusta in December, where a giant Christmas tree is installed. It’s indeed a fairy atmosphere.   More...
