Trip to France
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-17 04:17:48 (via graphics.stanford.edu)
Oooooo! This is a great description of a formidable visit to France, including the splitting and roasting of a whole pig. Ha-Ha!!! With lots of fun and good quality pictures, BTW. A completely different lifestyle and culture.

A bunch of boy-scouts to Hungary
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-17 03:21:44 (via www.bram.us)
Why would one during a hot summer go on a trip to Hungary and not Turkey, or Crimea? Anyway, if you chose not to go to the seaside, you still can sun-bathe on a lake beach for a day of two and even ride the banana or jet-sky, like this bunch did on the Tisza lake. But there is a lot to see and enjoy, spiced up with the experience of camping.

Title: Ukraine Travelogue - Kiev Village
Submitted by bindero on 2006-11-17 01:38:39 (via www.lisashea.com)
Looking like a tourist can be dangerous, while in Ukraine. You risk getting fooled by taxi drivers, but you’ll forget about it when you wake up in the beautiful Ukrainian countryside, surrounded by windmills, traditional churches, and old looking houses. I must agree to this article’s author: I could easily imagine being quite happy there.

My Trip to Holland
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-16 05:00:00 (via geoffreygoldberg.com)
Holland – a flat country with a constant wind, legendary old and now modern wind-mills and numerous canals with bascule bridges. I also enjoyed learning about the finest Dutch cigars, the remarkable Erasmus Bridge – hope to see it one day, and more.   More...

My First Trip to Italy
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-16 04:25:33 (via www.mansfield.ohio-state.edu)
Venice by Night. How romantic! But is it really? This account – hilarious and very precise – describes my impressions, as well. You’ll also enjoy reading about the road trip through the gorgeous Italian Alps and the adventure at the country border.   More...

Warsaw Stories
Submitted by roxy on 2006-11-16 03:27:07 (via www.xenophilia.net)
When reading this article, I could picture every place visited and described by the author: the Jewish Warsaw, with its university and Church, the cemetery, the Royal Castle; and the taste of the great Polish food mentioned in the travelogue – I could almost feel it myself. I can now say I’ve been to Poland! How about trying it yourself?   More...

Riga - A Magical City in the Baltics!
Submitted by Adele on 2006-11-16 02:52:48 (via realtravel.com)
Just like Jodie in this story, when hearing about Latvia or any other ex-Soviet Union country, I would ask: “Why would I go to any of these weird countries?” Not so after reading this. Riga is worth visiting: a beautiful medieval old town sprinkled with ultra-modern constructions and backed up with a very rich history.   More...

Wanderlust: Travel in broken bits
Submitted by roxy on 2006-11-16 02:51:56 (via www.break-fresh-ground.com)
Sometimes, you don’t need to prepare forever to take a trip. These two guys had a refreshing trip to Austria; fully enjoyed the nice, sunny days, got lost in a maze garden outside of the Queen’s palace, and never got a full picture of Mozart’s statue in Vienna (they weren’t too lucky with the photographer). I liked the story, see it yourself!   More...

Vilnius, Villains, Missing Ghosts, and a High Point Lithuania
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-16 02:19:14 (via realtravel.com)
The Genocide Museum, the Cathedral Square miracle tile, a delightful artisan's shop and a very disappointing ghost tour – these are some of the highpoints in this article, besides Juozapine - the highest point in Lithuania, of course. Recommended.   More...

My Trip to France
Submitted by cleo on 2006-11-15 03:14:29 (via www.davidlouisedelman.com)
Reading this I got a pretty good picture of what Paris is like. Concise, descriptive, non-biased and with a shade of humor, this article gives you enough details on the particularity of the city from an American’s impressions. Now, if I happen to be there, I know what to expect.   More...
