Le Canal du Midi: Go with the Flow in Southern France
Submitted by cmaingue on 2008-08-25 11:32:18 (via
In the 17th century, engineers built an amazing waterway in southern France called the Canal du Midi, now a World Heritage Site. The canal was designed as a shortcut for transporting goods through France from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. No longer used by commercial barges, it has become a peaceful haven for pleasure boats and barge-hotels.

Rue Cler: A Slice of Real Life in Everyday Paris
Submitted by cmaingue on 2007-07-23 18:54:27 (via
For immersion in Parisian culture, Rue Cler is one of my favorite places. Located between the Invalides and the Champs de Mars, it is an easy stroll to the Eiffel Tower. This neighborhood street is where real Parisians do their shopping and eat out.   More...

Cannes and it's surroundings
Submitted by lisa on 2007-05-21 05:25:18 (via
A typical French breakfast with a glass of milk and Finetti, which is a typical product of Italy, and a promenade a l’Anglais on the narrow streets of Cannes, it’s indeed a vacation that one can only dream of… Just stop dreaming! It’s reality, it’s Cannes!!!   More...

Les Bournizeaux
Submitted by Amber on 2007-05-14 03:54:29 (via
“You'd need a pretty good map to find Les Bournizeaux. It is near Bergerac, about one and a half hour drive east of Bordeaux.” But the place is terrific, and so are the food and the castles in this area, as well as Les Eyzies-de-Tayac with its cave paintings and Museum of pre-history.

I'm in Paris!
Submitted by bindero on 2007-05-11 04:28:15 (via
Even though they live in one of the fashion capitals of the world, Parisians themselves don't dress particularly well. For example, one would think that, with their proximity to Italy, they'd have better shoes. Barcelonans are far, far better dressed than Parisians. Even Berliners are better dressed than most Parisians. Must read it!

French Mediterranean
Submitted by pablo on 2007-04-05 11:14:28 (via
"We thank you for flying with us today. If you enjoyed your flight, please tell your friends. If you didn't enjoy flight, let's just keep that our little secret." – A good phrase to end a flight trip with a French airline, isn’t it? But beside this, the Southern France has beautiful things to offer, especially white sand beaches and turquoise sea.   More...
