Denmark

Copenhagen has much more to offer to tourists than just Kastellet, the National Museum, the statue of the Little Mermaid or the hippie community of Christiania. Bikes are part of its magic and they really enable visitors to feel the city's pulse. Plus, with a well-developed sense of humor, anyone is granted to experience Denmark at its best.   More...

Weekend in Macedonia
Submitted by bindero on 2007-07-13 02:22:49 (via zeuropes.free.fr)
Macedonia is very sympathetic with its small enchanting villages and unusual peacock guards. A trip to this quiet country is not what you would imagine an ultimate adventure like, but ... crossing its borders is really the icing on the cake. This whole ritual lasts for half an hour and that determines many tourists to despair. Welcome to Macedonia!   More...

Belgrade, Serbia
Submitted by lisa on 2007-07-12 05:05:11 (via www.hollabackpack.com)
Two ambitious Californians left their sunny state embarking on a journey through Serbia. Happily, the local attractions, the people and the food didn't disappoint. Even more, the trip proved to be more than enriching, as they discovered unexpected skills in other languages while their Serbian and the natives' English were limited. Serbia inspires!

Finland: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Arctic Adventure
Submitted by roxy on 2007-07-12 03:58:13 (via www.gonomad.com)
Northern Finland is a place where reindeer herds thrive and traditional Lapland costume is elfish in color and design. Everybody is welcome to start believing again in the existence of Santa Claus, to eat in an igloo, to snowmobile and to enjoy the Finnish sense of humor. Have an urge to cross the Arctic Circle? Do it in Finland.   More...

Prague - The new 'Top Three European City' location
Submitted by pablo on 2007-07-11 02:59:54 (via snchall.travellerspoint.com)
Prague is a spectacular highlight of any European trip. Although some of its attractions as the famous astronomical clock and Prague castle are worldwide renowned, there is still much left to be discovered along the city's medieval cobbled streets. Prague's charms can be hardly resisted and one will be determined to return again and again.   More...

Nature and Culture in Curacao
Submitted by ManjaB on 2007-07-10 06:49:57 (via www.off-the-beaten-track.net)
Less known than Aruba, the Netherlands Antilles island of Curacao is a perfect place to enjoy nature as well as culture: beautiful mansions and plantation buildings, leftovers from colonial times, national parks and lots of opportunities for diving and snorkeling.   More...

A journey to Cyprus
Submitted by lisa on 2007-07-10 04:50:08 (via www.sallybernstein.com)
Cyprus has been especially significant as the crossroads of European history. Myth and fact weave and intertwine in its history and one can easily find scenes that would, at least for the moment, make its mythology seem perfectly feasible. But there is more to fascinate the visitor than just history, the sunny Cyprus has something for everyone.   More...

Rafting in Bosnia: A Landscape of Incomparable Splendor
Submitted by christine on 2007-07-10 01:45:16 (via www.gonomad.com)
Bosnia is more than a rugged country. It’s a way of life that demands extreme outdoor sports. For the author, her unintended first-ever whitewater adventure resulted in waiting for death's sweet kiss. Hopefully, everyone avoided a sad ending and continued discovering Bosnia - irretrievably scarred by war, but infinitely capable of renewing herself.   More...

Parting the Red (and white) Sea... Running with the Bulls in Pamplona
Submitted by withoutarope on 2007-07-09 06:43:20 (via www.withoutarope.com)
We all slept through our alarms and finally woke just in time to race down the stairs and straight onto the first bus of the morning with Nathan shirtless and still pulling his shoes on to his feet. We were heading to the square in front of the town hall. We were going to join in the Encierro, the Running of the Bulls.   More...

Skiing, Skolling and Splitting Skulls in Andorra
Submitted by bindero on 2007-07-09 04:19:49 (via www.withoutarope.com)
Andorra is said to have some of the most dramatic scenery and best skiing of the Pyrenees and it rarely disappoints. Needless to say that the morning being ideal to hit the slopes leaves the afternoons free for a range of inebriating activities. Beware - it is a tax free country and one can easily find himself enjoying hangovers in a hospital ward!   More...
