The New India
Submitted by lisa on 2007-05-11 04:38:53 (via journals.worldnomads.com)
The India’s “WOW” factor drives people no matter how many times they visited it before. “Even in the centre of the cities you can see people that looked like they’ve just walked out of the Old Testament. Drivers can and do pull out into the road, even major highways, without a signal or even bothering to look in their mirror”. Sounds promising:).   More...

Planet Baobab
Submitted by christine on 2007-05-11 04:36:31 (via www.knoware.co.uk)
The "mud hut" chalets, basic but comfortable, grass huts, very basic, with a mud floor, hammock bed, and no windows or "en suite”, the mosquitoes are all the beauties of the Tanzanian common village. It is so basic, so archaically set up, and still, there are so many people willing to visit those remote places.

Kariba Dam
Submitted by christine on 2007-05-11 04:31:03 (via www.knoware.co.uk)
Here comes an article about the beauty of the Tanzanian landscape and typical adventure movies motifs telling about people trying to cross borders by boats, but not knowing yet about the famous dams on the Zambian river. Also, it is a story about the cutest little crocodiles grown in the Tanzanian crocodile farms:).

I'm in Paris!
Submitted by bindero on 2007-05-11 04:28:15 (via www.nerdgrrl.org)
Even though they live in one of the fashion capitals of the world, Parisians themselves don't dress particularly well. For example, one would think that, with their proximity to Italy, they'd have better shoes. Barcelonans are far, far better dressed than Parisians. Even Berliners are better dressed than most Parisians. Must read it!

Steam in Nigeria
Submitted by christine on 2007-05-09 05:58:50 (via www.livesteaming.com)
Different types of stem locomotives from presented by the Nigerian Railway Corporation are in this article. Of course, not in motion, but still pretty imposing. Also, find out how the Nigerian Judo Team felt at the temperature of 18-20 degrees. For me it was just so funny:).

Kansas City pass-through
Submitted by christine on 2007-05-09 03:59:02 (via www.stanandconnie.com)
Winters in Kansa City, summers in New York, pretty cool! And on the way… visiting dinosaur’s museums and bodies’ exhibitions. Is it the Adams family by the way?

The Orinoco Delta
Submitted by pablo on 2007-05-09 03:56:52 (via home.wanadoo.nl)
"I'll make you a trip you will never forget"… It’s quite a promising assurance of a tourist guide in the Orinoco Delta. And indeed, sleeping in nice places with showers and mosquito nests, along with piranha fishing and eating, can be a nice vacation.

Hooked on Greece: Naxos
Submitted by bindero on 2007-05-09 03:51:50 (via www.magicaljourneys.com)
“This was the Greece I had dreamed of. It was postcard perfect”. It is really nice when your plans coincide with what you find out when going for a vacation. Of course surprises is welcome, but only those who exceed the expectations.   More...

MTB around Uppsala
Submitted by lisa on 2007-05-09 03:42:47 (via www.lowdin.nu)
“Do everything possible to avoid looking like anything even vaguely similar to a moose in October and early November, unless you like to get shot.” A freaking joke? No, it is a rule that must be respected while bicycling in the vicinity of Uppsala. Also, this article gives valuable tips about trailing paths.

One Man, One Year, One Thousand Bars
Submitted by Amber on 2007-05-08 08:08:04 (via www.forbes.com)
“Drinking a thousand drinks in one bar over the course of a year is a piece of cake; lots of people do that. Having a drink in a thousand different bars is something different altogether. It would require planning and discipline.” This is really incredible!   More...
