A Close Shave
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2007-03-30 09:30:51 (via www.vwvagabonds.com)
This is a funny attempt at rafting on the most technically difficult commercially rafted rapid in the world. There’s a four meter waterfall and sharp rocks at the bottom. Good thing this guy ended up with the sole of one of his sandal ripped off only.   More...

Exploring Vienna, Austria
Submitted by lisa on 2007-03-30 08:37:56 (via www.diadav.com)
Vienna can undoubtedly pretend to be the most beautiful capital of the Central Europe. The gothic architecture of the cathedrals is indeed breathtaking. But the city attracts tourists not only by its traditional culture, but also by the modern constructions like the Prater attraction park or the bungee jumping from the observational deck.   More...

Bob Burns Summer 2002 Rail Travelogue
Submitted by roxy on 2007-03-30 08:34:13 (via www.trainweb.com)
Life in motion – that would be the motto of the following article. This article describes a life from a different perspective, nights in hotels, but days in the trains where the windows serve as the most captivating spectacle. Here the notion of time loses its meaning and everything resumes at the notion of space and sensations.

Nice is not only the world famous festival of film, but also one of the most favorable places to tan and have a dream vacation. Besides tanning on private beaches, you can make promenades in the old city and shop in fancy stores. Like the stars!

For most travelers, the South Aegean coast of Turkey is a holiday resort and not much else. St. Croix -the Gay Virgin Island
Submitted by christine on 2007-03-30 08:07:54 (via www.envoytravel.com)
We were going snorkeling in the Caribbean’s azure waters around the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our sailboat carried three lesbian couples and a male gay-friendly skipper. Lucky coincidence? Not at all. An article about agents who use gay friendly tour operators to ensure that their guests feel comfortable on the tour and are treated well in all respects.

Tropical Windshield Wipers
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2007-03-30 07:43:58 (via www.vwvagabonds.com)
Who would think that you can get trapped by something, as simple as broken windshield wipers? And why such an insignificant thing should spoil your day? Well, in a place with constant heavy rain and the narrow roads that offered no place to pull off for twenty or thirty kilometer, this is a problem. And in paradise cars are different;O).   More...

Victoria Falls
Submitted by bindero on 2007-03-30 07:32:44 (via www.knoware.co.uk)
Do you know the meaning of the name of Victoria Falls in the local dialect? It is named Mosi-Oa-Tunya – "The Smoke That Thunders". That is because not only the river Zambezi pours over a cliff, but actually pours into a hole caused by a rift. The water then exits at the bottom through a channel, continuing its way further down. Splendid view!
