Penang Island Malaysia
Submitted by pablo on 2007-04-05 10:36:00 (via www.walkaboutgalleries.com)
Even going to Malaysia for a business trip do not forget to see Kuala Lumpur’s beautiful temples and the stunning butterflies and botanical gardens, which are more attractive by the monkeys freely walking through the parks. But be wise to have some cash in Malaysian currency, as cash machines are kind of shortage there. Here you are an example…   More...

Sailing is a Life of Extremes
Submitted by Adele on 2007-04-05 07:44:03 (via www.wherescherie.com)
The journey is a process, and sometimes that process is miserable. What do you do when sailing in the middle of the ocean and a storm hits you? It’s completely uncontained and uncontrolled: the clouds are violent, the rain drops - massive, like coins pounding noisily on the bow, and you have a lightning rod (called a mast) attached to you.   More...

Blue Mountains, Australia
Submitted by cleo on 2007-04-05 07:39:47 (via www.dickandwitta.com)
Hiking the blue mountains is quite an experience. Most of the trails go down and down to the bottom of the canyon. The wildlife is abundant and unique and you can see even kangaroos, but not when the clouds are kissing the ground. Watch out for the blood sucking leach!   More...

Waterworld
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2007-04-05 07:35:58 (via www.terrystrek.com)
Do you have a clear understanding of what a “floating village” is? I didn’t, but it’s quite amazing. Everybody lives off of fishing in the great lake, owning a personal boat. In addition to that, there are school boats, police boats, store boats, karaoke boats, and fish farm boats. But this article has more curious things to discover.   More...

Alaska: Suicidal Salmon
Submitted by Adele on 2007-04-05 07:30:33 (via www.wherescherie.com)
This is an adventurous fishing experience in Alaska. One fish promised to curse them, if they don’t throw it back into the sea… and it was odd looking, too. I’m very curious actually what kind of fish is that? Maybe somebody can identify it from the picture?   More...

Sari-Sari Ailene

This is a very beautiful story. Sometimes when traveling, if you go a bit past the beautiful sites and touristy attractions, and look into the lives of the locals, you may end up making a difference in their lives. A transformation to last.   More...

Paris When It Sizzles
Submitted by cleo on 2007-04-05 07:18:57 (via www.dickandwitta.com)
Paris can be enjoyed even in its worst heat, because you can refuge in the coolness of its wonderful museums: the Louvre, Mona Lisa's home; the Musee d'Orsay that houses paintings and sculptures done around the time of the French Impressionists, or the Pompidou Centre dedicated to modern art. You still will love it.   More...

Inside the Glass Bubble
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2007-04-05 06:57:25 (via www.adventureprone.com)
No matter how much you hate a “package” travel experience, when in Kenya it might be the only option to see the wild life and it may turn out not too bad after all. Don’t be surprised of the libertine behavior of the animals – they are at their home in the wilderness and don’t care about your opinion.   More...

One Hundred and Fifty Quetzels
Submitted by Adele on 2007-04-04 10:04:46 (via www.vwvagabonds.com)
Here is a unique style of crossing Guatemalan borders free of charge. And this done facing a soldier with a machine gun, and entering a country in civil war. Sometimes and even often women can work up miracles in an amazing way. Then, you don’t recognize the woman next to you anymore.   More...

Sometimes Things Go Right
Submitted by kiwi on 2007-04-04 09:54:26 (via www.madnomad.com)
This is a trip to the caves in Kabayan to see the mummies the Ibaloi people embalmed. Unlike the Egyptians, they didn't eviscerate their mummies: the body was considered sacred, so organs could not be removed. The process was started before death. This account also includes the ritual of sacrificing a pig for someone ill.   More...
