Biking Solo from Maine to Pennsylvania
Submitted by cleo on 2007-03-02 03:05:09 (via www.icdc.com)
This is a great bicycling tour of 827 miles. No parade and no fanfare at the end, “but I didn't need them. What I got instead were the memories of the dozens of kind souls who had poured out their hospitality on me, as I weaved my way in and out of their lives, out on the open road”. Courage and tenacity is required though for such an endeavor.   More...

Las Vegas
Submitted by Amber on 2007-03-01 06:49:24 (via www.worldtravelstories.com)
In Las Vegas everything is created with the purpose of drawing you into gambling more and more. Even the hot weather outside serves for this purpose; where the air-conditioned casinos provide a refreshing oasis of escape.   More...

Monkey River
Submitted by cleo on 2007-03-01 06:43:05 (via www.eltravelbugs.com)
Canoeing down the Monkey River, along thick green jungle walls, lulled by its constant buzz on a trip to meet the Belizean baboons. Unfortunately, instead of welcome they sent a “get lost” message by lobbing branches down like grenades on the enemy. Did you know about their ability and mechanism of roaring like King Kong?   More...

Victoria - the Manta Ray
Submitted by kiwi on 2007-03-01 06:35:59 (via stjohnbeachguide.com)
An alive, free of charge tourist attraction. Victoria knows how to put on a spectacular show to entertain the people and this with no school, training, or education in the field.:o) It simply does what it was created to do, absolutely free, as if nobody is watching, yet aware of the joy it brings.   More...

Athens
Submitted by Adele on 2007-03-01 06:28:11 (via www.oldworldwandering.com)
This is a very colorful and truthful account about Athens. The famous, delicious and cheap Gyros are sold everywhere. The climb to Parthenon, and the breathtaking panoramic view of Athens and many other historical, cultural and gourmet details make it worth reading.

Trinidad's Pitch Lake
Submitted by Amber on 2007-03-01 06:10:59 (via www.richard-seaman.com)
Have you heard of such an occurrence as the Pitch Lake? I have just read about it. It’ a pretty curious phenomena: a lake that is alive, gradually swallowing the things around in and then spitting and burping out the parts it doesn’t like.   More...

A Vacation in Las Vegas
Submitted by cleo on 2007-03-01 05:53:22 (via rchow.tripod.com)
Hmm, this is such a cool place to go for a vacation… Especially, when you get to stay in the Bellagio Hotel and, especially, when you get a room with the view of the fountains. You may have a chance to see James Bond, or Charlize Theron, or who knows, maybe, other people you will recognize, like, your father-in-law for example…

Bioluminescent Bay
Submitted by kiwi on 2007-03-01 05:44:01 (via stjohnbeachguide.com)
Absolutely blockbusting!!! If you splash water on your hair it will drip crystals of light like tiny sparkling jewels. If you bang on the sides of your kayak you’ll see the streaks of light they make underwater. If it starts to rain, the whole bay will light up, and everything is glowing and sparkling in electric greenish and bluish white light.   More...
