Rio de Janeiro and the Mugging
Submitted by Adele on 2006-11-24 04:33:56 (via www.travelblog.org)
A very rich experience in Brasil – fun to read and useful. Being just a reader, now I know what to expect at the "kilograma" restaurant, what kind of people the cariocas are and what other surprises, besides the freezing ocean, one can encounter on a beach in Rio de Janeiro.

Wide Weird World: Greenland
Submitted by pablo on 2006-11-24 02:02:35 (via www.wideweirdworld.com)
Who thought you could listen to Wham's 'Club Tropicana' right in… Greenland? Oh don’t worry, sailing by an Ice cube 3 times as high as your ship just a few meters away brings you back to reality: you are on the right island! That’s a really funny article I found on the internet, about a really special destination… Worth reading!   More...

Abandoned Dwellings in New Mexico
Submitted by roxy on 2006-11-24 01:35:20 (via www.walkaboutgalleries.com)
A good photographer makes many sacrifices, like waking up early to be ready for hopefully a spectacular sunrise, climbing all sorts of dangerous stairs to hit upon the perfect position for a photo shooting, and most importantly, finding a great location for it all. I recommend the Chaco Canyon in New Mexico as an amazing one! Wanna know why?...   More...

The Wildlife in Costa-Rica
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-23 04:47:25 (via www.highrock.com)
Here a glimpse of the wild-life in Costa Rica. Leaf-cutter ants, turkey vultures, macaws, beautiful stallions, white-faced monkeys, Iguanas and a cute baby three-toed sloth lost - a lot of interesting creatures, but what else can you expect, when in the jungle!   More...

Kamshet: Circus in the Sky
Submitted by roxy on 2006-11-23 01:57:41 (via www.indiatravelogue.com)
Yeah, India is a great place to visit, but I didn’t know it’s also one of the best spots for paragliding… I’ve never had the courage to do it myself and maybe that’s why I found this article exciting and interesting. Reading about other people’s extreme adventures is an adventure itself! Just a SAFER one. :)   More...

White water rafting on the Deerfield River
Submitted by bindero on 2006-11-23 00:52:15 (via www.adventureliving.com)
It’s amazing, the words in this article worked like hypnosis for me… I’m ready to do water rafting RIGHT NOW, and get my chance for plowing through the rapids. For a beginner like me, all I need is a good guide… I am more motivated try rafting than I was to graduate from college! You should read it too.

Christmas in Venezuela
Submitted by Adele on 2006-11-22 04:23:55 (via www.dcbachelor.com)
Look what it means to be traveling alone in a foreign country, especially one like Venezuela and especially around Christmas. Hitting your head, when jumping into watery canyons is not the most exciting thing, but all this is incomparable to turning into a walking dumpster sprinkled with Axe deodorant. Very entertaining to read, but... poor guy!

Venezuela: Urban Hell
Submitted by cleo on 2006-11-22 04:01:18 (via www.dcbachelor.com)
A very down to earth account of the life in Caracas. Barrios – what in the world are barrios? Wouldn’t know if I didn’t read this. Pretty freaky! You better don’t go there alone, ‘cause you’d be completely on your own even with cops nearby. Ha!   More...

From Roswell to Area 51
Submitted by bindero on 2006-11-22 02:08:09 (via pages.prodigy.net)
A two week excursion into the unknown sounds great to me! I admit I’ve been to all sorts of places, but I’ve never stepped inside an UFO museum. Moreover, I’ve slept in many hotels, but I’ve never stayed in a place called Little A’Le’Inn. And yes, that makes me think I missed a lot! Make sure you lock all the doors before reading this article.   More...

A True Story
Submitted by roxy on 2006-11-22 00:49:54 (via uk.geocities.com)
This piece of writing really impressed me: I realized how superficial my perspective on Tibet was by now. I never knew about this country’s problems and now I can’t believe a small place like that can have such a tough past and present. It’s a very debatable article! Be ready for an interesting discussion to follow!
