Eat a camel?
Submitted by bindero on 2006-12-11 23:41:29 (via blogs.bootsnall.com)
I’m pretty gutsy by nature, but I’d need some good thinking before trying… camel meat. This article tries to point out camel meat is very eatable, despite the many myths regarding its salty and strong taste. Still, most expatriates are curious about camel meat but only a few ever try it. That sounds fair to me! ;)   More...

“I am Eating Absurd Amounts of Felafal”
Submitted by lisa on 2006-12-11 23:38:57 (via www.jordanklein.us)
I must be really torn in order to get to the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, and leave my ATM receipt there, instead of a peace note I have written for one of my relatives. Well, this article’s author did it, and it was really fun to read about it. Still, I’m not sure what the title has to do with the rest of the article. Can anyone enlighten me?:)   More...

The Voodoo Lands of Togo and Benin
Submitted by pablo on 2006-12-11 23:36:26 (via www.xenophilia.net)
I’ve surely heard about voodoo, and I would’ve certainly loved to use it on some people (ha), but I’ve never assisted to a real voodoo ceremony. Now I know I shouldn’t miss my chance to do it if I ever go to Africa. And if I get to visit with the King himself, like this article’s author did, I can consider myself a happy traveler:).   More...

For those interested in the life of the Maori people in New Zealand, see this article. No worry, there’s no way to get bored while reading it: it’s the type of article that puts you to thinking. How could it not happen when everything’s taking place in a stunningly beautiful landscape of fjords, alpine lakes, waterfalls and temperate rain forests?   More...

Norwegian New Year
Submitted by roxy on 2006-12-11 23:32:14 (via www.indiatravelogue.com)
Norway is my favorite winter country since I visited it in 2005. Reading this article gave me the feeling I never left that place, and I’m still hanging out skiing, having an amazing Norwegian breakfast and most of all – spending New Year with the great, friendly, Norwegian people. No matter how far away from home you are, you feel welcomed there…   More...

An Island of Paramount Architectural Beauty
Submitted by cleo on 2006-12-08 03:36:58 (via www.heartspace.org)
I only saw pics of Taj Mahal and since sculpture and architecture fascinate me more then painting, I definitely though of it as a jewel of proportion. Reading a first hand account gave me a more real idea of it and it’s surroundings: it’s truly an incomparable beauty, but in the midst of an, unfortunately, filthy area...   More...

Sirocco Roof Bar Restaurant
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-12-08 02:39:27 (via www.alexasigno.co.uk)
“Pretty breathtaking, jutting into the skyline of the city like the deck of a space ship with the entrancing glow of the Sky Bar. Its astonishing atmosphere is only a complement to its excellent cuisine... To add to this, the Sirocco bar is also one of Bangkok’s best live jazz venues, featuring international performers…” I want there!!!   More...

My trip to Japan
Submitted by Adele on 2006-12-08 01:08:06 (via www.dgolds.com)
This is a great trip to follow on with this people as they move from one place to another from the moment they left home to the moment then came back. I can’t explain how, but as I read it at my own pace, it felt as if I was there traveling along. Also, at the end there is a list of recommendations and unusual things to expect. Japan sounds cool!   More...

In-water Adventure
Submitted by Amber on 2006-12-05 04:06:52 (via www.wired2theworld.com)
This is the part of the diving adventure in Honduras, that at one point almost became another page 12, small print headline, "American Woman Drowns Scuba Diving in Honduras", the navigation of the rusted El Aquila ship, the fun dolphin snorkeling experience and other, all ending with the long flight back - a comedy of errors! Indeed.
