| Silver pencil shapes, sleek, present, silent, motionless and suspended… and large unblinking eyes watch. There they were, about 10 feet from me… the school of 46. We watched each other. A gentle drift brought them closer… fairly unnerving. As I read it, I felt the tension rise inside. Poetic, but chilling.

| Ciudad del Este, Paraguay - Itaipu Dam, Wonder of the Modern World |

| I’m not into hydroelectric at all - but when I read this article I was staggered such a HUGE central like Itaipu Dam exists in Paraguay. It’s supposed to be one of the seven wonders of the modern world. Moreover, Paraguay is the world's largest exporter of hydroelectric power. That’s an interesting article even for an uninitiated like me!

| Bicycle Tour of the Texas Gulf Coast |

| To all cyclists, here’s an idea of a great place for winter biking: Texas! Flat roads, low prices, a lot of bird-watching, friendly people, and safe itineraries... perfect! My favorite part was about how exciting biking is on a disappearing road (due to gulf storms), despite the many dreadful warnings of locals and authorities to avoid it!

| If you’ve never traveled in an African airplane, don’t be surprised if suddenly, without warning, there is a giant mountain passing next to your window a half mile away. Also, don’t be very mad if the plane takes off 30 minutes early. I’ve been to Kenya so I know all these, but I still found this article awesome and useful! See it yourself!

| The Mysteries of Guatemala |

| Reading this all of a sudden you brake from reality and are taken back into the far past of a mysterious culture. Except it’s the now-a-day Guatemala: in the subterranean burial chambers you will hear chanting echoing through the tunnels and the smell of candle wax fills the air, while the natives perform a... sacrifice. Unbelievable!

| I think I had lunch in every place you could think of, but reading this article made me realize I’ve never eaten from the arms of a glacier! I found this story interesting, and I’m surprised to discover Norway as a great place for hiking, trekking, and of course ice climbing. The fjords are amazing, too. Bon appetite when reading this travelogue!

| I knew very little about Azerbaijan before reading this article. What impressed me are the huge, immensely modern gas stations there, since the oil industry is highly developed. And there’s a lot to find out about attractions too – from seaside to old buildings, mountains and ancient carvings dating since the 1st century C.E. Surely worth reading!
