A bunch of boy-scouts to Hungary
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-17 03:21:44 (via www.bram.us)
Why would one during a hot summer go on a trip to Hungary and not Turkey, or Crimea? Anyway, if you chose not to go to the seaside, you still can sun-bathe on a lake beach for a day of two and even ride the banana or jet-sky, like this bunch did on the Tisza lake. But there is a lot to see and enjoy, spiced up with the experience of camping.

From Hungary to allover Romania to Spain
Submitted by cleo on 2006-11-17 02:11:32 (via realtravel.com)
This is a pretty long, but very entertaining account on a bike tour from Hungary trough it’s awesome Budapest, then crisscrossing all over Romania’s old cities and beautiful landscapes and ending up in the gorgeous city of Sevilla, Spain. All this filled with many pleasant and less pleasant surprises, like the robbery at the Turkish baths and more.

Tokyo and Yokohama
Submitted by pablo on 2006-11-17 01:41:01 (via www.xenophilia.net)
This article really made me think how come in a place as big as Tokyo is, 90% of the streets in have no names. It’s quite a challenge to find places like the fish market, the Kabuki Theatre, the Sensoji Temple, which is said to be the oldest in Tokyo, and my favorite part – to go to a Japanese football game. Miriam Nadel made it through, could you?   More...

Title: Ukraine Travelogue - Kiev Village
Submitted by bindero on 2006-11-17 01:38:39 (via www.lisashea.com)
Looking like a tourist can be dangerous, while in Ukraine. You risk getting fooled by taxi drivers, but you’ll forget about it when you wake up in the beautiful Ukrainian countryside, surrounded by windmills, traditional churches, and old looking houses. I must agree to this article’s author: I could easily imagine being quite happy there.

The Coolest Hotel in Canada - January 2003
Submitted by roxy on 2006-11-17 01:37:03 (via www.xenophilia.net)
I didn’t know Canada had the kind of hotel, where you get a huge block of ice instead of a bed, and you’re beverages are served in a glass made entirely of ice, as well. I’m surprised this article’s author actually got some sleep in such conditions, but I bet she was even more surprised to find her tooth paste frozen solid in the morning!   More...

Limska Draga Bike Tour
Submitted by cleo on 2006-11-17 01:25:41 (via www.trekearth.com)
This looks like a bicycle tour in the country side of Croatia. I found it attractive: kazuns (small, round shepherd shelters) along the road, the picturesque town of Tinjan with macadam roads, the ascending and descending cart-roads on the slopes of the beautiful Limska Draga valley. Hmm… so many different roads!

My Trip to Holland
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-16 05:00:00 (via geoffreygoldberg.com)
Holland – a flat country with a constant wind, legendary old and now modern wind-mills and numerous canals with bascule bridges. I also enjoyed learning about the finest Dutch cigars, the remarkable Erasmus Bridge – hope to see it one day, and more.   More...

My First Trip to Italy
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-16 04:25:33 (via www.mansfield.ohio-state.edu)
Venice by Night. How romantic! But is it really? This account – hilarious and very precise – describes my impressions, as well. You’ll also enjoy reading about the road trip through the gorgeous Italian Alps and the adventure at the country border.   More...

Warsaw Stories
Submitted by roxy on 2006-11-16 03:27:07 (via www.xenophilia.net)
When reading this article, I could picture every place visited and described by the author: the Jewish Warsaw, with its university and Church, the cemetery, the Royal Castle; and the taste of the great Polish food mentioned in the travelogue – I could almost feel it myself. I can now say I’ve been to Poland! How about trying it yourself?   More...

Beth’s Trip to Egypt
Submitted by bindero on 2006-11-16 02:53:52 (via www.zuckershack.org)
I never thought about an American’s perspective on Cairo, Egypt. I found it interesting, after reading this article: everything from food to taxi cabs seemed “incredibly inexpensive”, the people were friendly and the attractions – sometimes “odd”. Watch a lot of pictures and enjoy the experience of three Americans in the capital of belly dancing.
