Toodle-oo, Tuvalu!
Submitted by pablo on 2007-06-28 04:16:58 (via www.theage.com.au)
Tuvalu is beautifully small. Despite its charm, it is falling victim to rising sea levels and the greenhouse effect. But the gracefully relaxed Polynesian way of life remains unaffected. Although the island may be sinking, joy continues unabated because Tuvalu is different. One should see it for oneself, as “the islands may not be around for ever”.   More...

Tectonic Tonga
Submitted by roxy on 2007-06-28 03:20:23 (via www.bemywingman.com)
An earthquake 8.0 on the Richter scale is a major event, even bigger if you are in the azure blue waters of the Tongan South Pacific and tsunami warnings are made. And there this Pacific kingdom does have more singularities. Tourists confess they have never seen so many churches in their lives. With all its uniqueness, Tonga captures their hearts.

The Solomon Islands have amazing sites for diving. Shooting the rapids in Pagsanjan
Submitted by ivanhenares on 2007-06-27 09:36:32 (via www.ivanhenares.com)
The boat trip to Pagsanjan Falls is a thrill ride one should not miss when in the Philippines. Watching the boatmen jump out of the boat when the rapids come up and hop from rock to rock pulling the small wooden boat upstream against the strong current, is indeed amazing. And the scenery and nature around is simply refreshing.   More...

More fun under the Saipan sun
Submitted by bindero on 2007-06-27 03:39:41 (via www.ivanhenares.com)
Managaha Island, surrounded by a pristine white sand beach and cobalt blue water, is considered by most tourists as the most beautiful spot in Saipan. But there is much more to enjoy than its beauty. One can get adventurous while exploring the underwater paradise in a yellow submarine, illegally feeding fish and going to a stunning cocktail show.   More...

Micronesia 13: Nan Midol, the Tiki Palace
Submitted by christine on 2007-06-26 03:37:12 (via www.rudyrucker.com)
Nan Midol is an amazing Micronesian site consisting of about twenty little artificial islands created by making walls of basalt and filling them in with coral. Everything is pristine and natural, no trash in sight, no signs, nothing but the romance of stone ruins amidst jungle plants and the rising tide of the sea. Being there feels like Venice.

Cook Islands

Sharing one’s vacation with a film-crew can be tough, but it has its advantages - one can have the beach to oneself and enjoy privacy while there are few tourists. In addition, the Cook Islands offer good accommodation facilities and delightful landscapes. What more could one wish for a harmonious vacation for two?

Adventures in Tajikistan
Submitted by roxy on 2007-06-22 03:44:14 (via www.escapeartist.com)
Although Tajikistan is not a rich country, the first thing that stuns you when you go there is that people are generally well dressed and you can see any brand of car you can think of. Unpredictable traffic, markets where you could buy anything and easily get lost and much more await tourists who are willing to take the challenge of visiting it.   More...

December 14, 2001 (Aitutaki, Cook Islands)
Submitted by pablo on 2007-06-22 03:02:11 (via www.delsjourney.com)
The Cook Islands are an unspoiled tropical paradise - postcard scenery, ideal weather and reasonable food and lodging. Still, it is generally considered that you haven't really seen it until you get to its outer islands. So if you want to bask in the sun and experience genuine South Pacific friendliness, Aitutaki is the place to go.   More...
