Alan's Macau Guide
Submitted by christine on 2007-06-19 02:44:13 (via www.banoffeepie.com)
From reading tourist literature, you probably imagine Macau as a sleepy little colonial town with European grace. It fights to be claimed attractive and thankfully, it does have its charms if you know what is worth wasting time on. It pays to be selective and half of the work has been done for you through this excellent article.   More...

When speaking about the Maldives, even getting there can turn out to be adventurous. 26 degrees all year round, sunny, good diving, good viz even in plankton blooms, lots of marine life, relaxing, good food, appealing discounts - all these make the islands look as a real piece of heaven for divers and any tourists.   More...

The Way of St. James
Submitted by cmaingue on 2007-06-15 11:53:56 (via www.circatours.com)
As you cross northern Spain, you encounter a continuous stream of pilgrims along El Camino de Santiago (Spanish for "the Road to Santiago"). By following the route you will participate in a centuries-old religious tradition. But even if you’re not motivated by the religious aspect, the area offers history, heritage, art, wine, cuisine, and more.   More...

Mercy Trucks Ventures to Guinea Bissau
Submitted by roxy on 2007-06-15 03:58:32 (via www.ywam.org)
Driving the long vehicle across seven countries and two deserts, many frustrations including having to deal with authorities asking you for papers you don’t necessarily need; arriving Guinea Bissau and being welcomed with joy and sincere friendliness by the local people makes one look back and think, one could do this all over again.   More...

Heinz Stucke Guinness Book of Records holder "Epic Journeys"
Submitted by roxy on 2007-06-15 03:35:25 (via www.bikechina.com)
Can you believe it? It is a report of 33 years of traveling by the "Most Traveled Man in History" included in the Guinness Record Book. Impression of traveling to China, where everybody break rules; Russia and the post soviet republics, and Africa where you should be careful with local bees which are allergic to soap. It is definitely a must read!   More...

Discover East Timor
Submitted by lisa on 2007-06-15 03:24:34 (via www.discoverdili.com)
It’s a delectable article on the exploring of Maubisse, Baucau, the islands of Com and Jaco and Atauro – some of the most attractive places in Timor Leste. Having enjoyed the Timorese hospitality during the trip, the author concludes that although the country is small, the range and variety of opportunities for visitors to discover is unbelievable.   More...

Beauty or Bleakness? Seeking Jazz in Kyrgyzstan During the Holiday Season
Submitted by pablo on 2007-06-15 03:12:46 (via www.allaboutjazz.com)
Somebody took the challenge to find jazz musicians in the world's most unlikely places and reached “Switzerland of Central Asia”. It sounds even more difficult if we take in account that he started his adventure in winter- not a very touristy time. As a result, Kyrgyzstan hosted its first-ever international jazz festival…   More...

Thoughts on Kazakhstan
Submitted by christine on 2007-06-14 01:47:04 (via www.gapyear.com)
Kazakhstan is full of anomalies where nothing quite adds up, neither Asia nor Europe, but betwixt and between. People go to any lengths to help you feel welcome in their country. At times, this can go quite far and become annoying. Here is a curious experience in Kazakhstan of two girls who set off on a journey supporting a charitable cause.   More...

On the road again
Submitted by bindero on 2007-06-13 04:52:34 (via www.allystrip.com)
Some of one’s favorite memories are of his worst days. This is the case of Ally, who discovered the warmth and generosity of the Timorese people, graciously helping reassemble his dying motorbike several times. In East Timor, accommodation can be hardly found; so, in extreme need, one may find himself sleeping in a toilet ante-room (!).   More...

Brunei
Submitted by bindero on 2007-06-12 04:52:03 (via www.richard-seaman.com)
“Of the more than 20 countries I've visited, Brunei would certainly be the last I'd go to again.” It doesn’t sound too appealing, does it? But this article is really worth reading, it gives a critical but constructive opinion on political, economical and social situation in this controversial state. The author's discreet irony is really enjoyable!   More...
