Cockfighting in Manila
Submitted by Amber on 2007-05-04 11:24:55 (via www.rhymer.net)
Wow! Cockfighting is the national sport of the Philippines! I didn’t know that. Have you heard of it? It’s cruel, if you think of the razor-sharp blades tied to their legs by a ‘gaffer’. Unbelievable!

Driving in Bali
Submitted by cleo on 2007-05-04 11:01:45 (via www.ourreallybigadventure.com)
“We had no idea how far it was to the next petrol station, but the increasing prevalence of roadside stalls selling motorbike fuel in old Coke and Fanta bottles suggested it was some distance yet.” No doubt. Driving in Bali is a unforgettable experience. Have fun with it!

Climbing in Bukittinggi
Submitted by cleo on 2007-05-04 10:57:36 (via www.ourreallybigadventure.com)
“It is unusual to have to pay to climb outdoors. It goes against the grain for most climbers… Just as we feel we should be allowed to walk the hills for free, so we should be able to climb on any attractive vertical faces we find there.” But such isn’t the case in Sumatra, where people are eager to make money on each word they say to you.

The Road to Regaleali
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2007-05-04 10:52:02 (via www.wired2theworld.com)
Although an enough rough road, the destination was rewarding: spiced and cozy, freshly rolled in cinnamon sugar and simply delicious. Then, followed by a private tour around the winery that produces 2,5 million bottles a year. That is Sicily.

More on Hawaii
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2007-05-04 10:48:01 (via www.wired2theworld.com)
“The Imu ceremony happened around 6:30 and there was plenty of opportunity to see the process. The pig is put in a cage made of chicken wire and covered with leaves. It is then buried in the ground covered with hot lava rocks, more leaves, sheets, and dirt...” Quite curious! Hawaii has more and more to offer…   More...

Zomba & Blantyre
Submitted by Amber on 2007-05-04 10:44:32 (via www.geoffstravelscrapbook.co.uk)
“Chingwe's Hole - there is a local legend that says that the hole is bottomless and it was once used as a burial chamber.” I imagine they didn’t place them on shelves. In a place like this, be prepared for whatever surprise.

Traveling with No Schedule
Submitted by Amber on 2007-05-04 10:41:49 (via www.geocities.com)
This is a travel around the South America. Not always a safe place, taking into account that you may get your sunglasses wrenched off in broad daylight, but still very beautiful and diverse in experience.

Alcatraz
Submitted by roxy on 2007-05-04 06:02:56 (via www.amwest-travel.com)
Alcatraz Island, from its opening in 1934 until it was closed in 1963 was America's most well known and infamous prison. Now, it is one of San Francisco's most popular tourist attractions. It is just incredible that authorities could transform Alcatraz in a touristy attraction, in which people are willing to pay for being treated like prisoners.   More...
