The Trip to Palmyra
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2006-12-22 07:59:34 (via www.david-guerrero.com)
It seems to be an incredible place with so familiarly incredible people – u know, those tourist-oriented that wait 4u at every corner, offering u all kinds of services etc. Ok, there’s another side: the visiting of Bedouin settlement with a welcome Bedouin coffee, the delicious food and hospitality of people, the sunrise at Palmyra ruins, the...

Iran
Submitted by Adele on 2006-12-22 03:36:57 (via karstenfilsoe.dk)
“How are you? Do you speak English?” I thought this is a great article in describing what it would be like to go on a trip to Iran. It gives you a good idea of what is there, the hospitality of people, places to visit, troubles to expect, do’s and don’ts, places to stay, transportation, etc.

Are all Alaskans like this - I was impressed with the simplicity, openness and hospitality of this man. Have you ever hosted strangers, without even being home? And what experience can be described as fantastically scary? :O}Maybe... canoeing in Alasca.

Luxembourg
Submitted by Adele on 2006-12-22 01:13:05 (via www.sauntering.com)
Click and select from the list, Luxembourg – the smallest and cleanest country, with the highest household income and great architecture. The only city can be seen in a day, while the country in two-three days. Since long ago, I was curious about it - I could not understand how this can be so small?   More...

Lost in Athens
Submitted by Adele on 2006-12-21 04:24:27 (via www.cockeyed.com)
See what can happen when walking through an under construction area in Athens around midnight and how you can get elegantly white shoes for free:O) Fun to read and I’m sure by this time, Athens looks much different.

Drive Right on the Left
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2006-12-21 04:15:18 (via softadventure.net)
Ha-ha-ha! Hilarious! If you plan to visit England and rent a car, the experience will be unforgettable ;o) Read this detailed account of how to do it, advise for the back-sitters and what to keep saying when driving – something like "left side, left side!” This is the tune you’ve got to continue playing.   More...

Vilnius, Lithuania
Submitted by christine on 2006-12-21 02:53:25 (via www.bootsnall.com)
How much I knew about Vilnius? Not a lot. I sure didn’t know it’s the place to see the latest Mercedes Benz overtake a Zil truck up a paved street past a 40 year old trolleybus; or that its best pub it’s called The Pub; or that it’s got an imposing KGB museum. So this article is very informative, check it out; take it as a cultural experience.   More...

Stockholm Day 1- A nightmare come true!!
Submitted by lisa on 2006-12-21 01:39:00 (via www.hostelbloggers.com)
Ok, here’s an article that scared the crap out of me! I got some good stories of my own about airports/flights, but missing an airplane which is about to take off having my luggage loaded is waaay tragic. What a pity, everyone was very enthusiastic about the trip in the 1st place. Wanna see the moral of the story? Go for it – I adhere to it:).   More...

Christmas Day, cold London without public transport
Submitted by bindero on 2006-12-21 01:37:06 (via www.havetravelfun.com)
Sure, London is an awesome place for spending Christmas. That’s what everybody hears. Now, picture this: London’s streets almost empty, no busses, no subway, nothing open – no shops, no restaurants – zilch. The only pub working was eager to serve 2 cups of coffee, a croissant and a sandwich cheese for a fortune. Happy Holidays!   More...

Things you MUST do in Belgium
Submitted by roxy on 2006-12-21 01:35:27 (via www.theworldly.org)
Great piece you should’t miss, even if you’re not going to Belgium soon. As the title suggests, it talks about things you MUST do in this country: taste the handmade chocolate and the waffles, visit the Grand’Place, meet the peeing boy, and get a piece of Belgian lace. Now you can say you’ve been there. But first, you MUST read this article.   More...
