Her Name is Nagat
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-12-15 02:50:48 (via soly.st)
Cairo with its maze of streets and lanes, its quarters and bazaars is like a labyrinth invented by ancient storytellers. Cairo is like an ancient lady who has lived a thousand years or more, who has seen power come and go.., but there is another great thing she saw - something that leaves anybody bewildered…

Istanbul
Submitted by Adele on 2006-12-15 02:27:23 (via www.cockeyed.com)
I’ve heard Istanbul is a very beautiful city to visit, but didn’t have a chance yet. The Topkapi palace with its large collection of Chinese ceramics, a sacred relics area, a Treasury, the Harem, an armory and a garden with a view of the Sea of Marmara is one of the wonderful things. But there is more…

Afganistan: Things that Are Not Anymore
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-12-15 02:11:23 (via www.notsorry.com)
You get a mix feeling when reading this: it’s beautiful and saddening, as you realize you see something that is now history. And when you think that was only a few years ago. But, hey, it’s still a very beautiful country, with striking scenery, dangerous roads and the world’s tastiest bread.

Into Africa
Submitted by bindero on 2006-12-15 01:58:18 (via www.bougerolle.net)
Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya – who understands these places without putting time and money into it? Like this traveler did, and I’m very jealous for the priceless experience he got from his trip to North East Africa. Having the Nile always around, “hanging out” in the desert, catching all sorts of viruses… stuff really worth reading about.   More...

MALAYSIA: Kuala Lumpur
Submitted by lisa on 2006-12-15 01:55:51 (via www.wired2theworld.com)
Awesome! I love urban areas, but I didn’t imagine how nice it is to stay at the 15th floor of a huge hotel when visiting Malaysia. That should give you a full picture of the place; you don’t even need a guided tour ;). Plus, the food is perfect, the internet is cheap, the ice coffee is great… yeah, one more modern paradise in the heart of Asia.   More...

My Fiji Travelogue
Submitted by christine on 2006-12-15 01:53:33 (via www.geocities.com)
Frankly speaking, I wouldn’t do what this article’s author did: going to Fiji for 4 days only. And even if I did plan my trip that way firstly, you must be a hero to get me out of there in time without getting hurt :). Pretty interesting article, it talks about housing, food and some activities to keep you busy in the beautiful islands.   More...

Seven Days in Tibet
Submitted by Amber on 2006-12-15 01:34:17 (via photosbymartin.com)
This is a wonderful account on a trip around the Tibet Plateau amidst “interesting” companions in search for a place to go p.. and other hilarious moments and troubles on the road. Absolutely gorgeous Potala Palace, the old monasteries, however, outnumbered by the nightclubs and the fiercely religious people is a thing I can’t be sarcastic about.:|

The Spotted Cow
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-12-15 01:17:30 (via www.oldworldwandering.com)
Who doesn’t like to travel? Some time ago I thought that only I am so thirsty for traveling and other do this out of duty of because they just need a vacation.‘/ But besides liking it you’ve also got to have some money, which is a problem often for many. Now look what these people did to earn for traveling. Sweat and tears, but I admire them.   More...
