Riga - A Magical City in the Baltics!
Submitted by Adele on 2006-11-16 02:52:48 (via realtravel.com)
Just like Jodie in this story, when hearing about Latvia or any other ex-Soviet Union country, I would ask: “Why would I go to any of these weird countries?” Not so after reading this. Riga is worth visiting: a beautiful medieval old town sprinkled with ultra-modern constructions and backed up with a very rich history.   More...

Wanderlust: Travel in broken bits
Submitted by roxy on 2006-11-16 02:51:56 (via www.break-fresh-ground.com)
Sometimes, you don’t need to prepare forever to take a trip. These two guys had a refreshing trip to Austria; fully enjoyed the nice, sunny days, got lost in a maze garden outside of the Queen’s palace, and never got a full picture of Mozart’s statue in Vienna (they weren’t too lucky with the photographer). I liked the story, see it yourself!   More...

Vilnius, Villains, Missing Ghosts, and a High Point Lithuania
Submitted by kiwi on 2006-11-16 02:19:14 (via realtravel.com)
The Genocide Museum, the Cathedral Square miracle tile, a delightful artisan's shop and a very disappointing ghost tour – these are some of the highpoints in this article, besides Juozapine - the highest point in Lithuania, of course. Recommended.   More...

My Trip to France
Submitted by cleo on 2006-11-15 03:14:29 (via www.davidlouisedelman.com)
Reading this I got a pretty good picture of what Paris is like. Concise, descriptive, non-biased and with a shade of humor, this article gives you enough details on the particularity of the city from an American’s impressions. Now, if I happen to be there, I know what to expect.   More...

Travelogue Argentina 2003 – Buenos Aires
Submitted by bindero on 2006-11-15 01:07:37 (via volker.umpfenbach.de)
What I thought I knew about tough airplane flights was blown away after reading this article. Such an adventure, flying from Munich to Buenos Aires! And then, Argentina sounds great for my next trip, since it merges the coffee, the tango, the great food and the Latin America atmosphere to build a dream destination for anyone.

Armenia is Closed for Reconstruction
Submitted by pablo on 2006-11-15 01:04:41 (via www.xenophilia.net)
Think of planting a rock wherever there should be a tree and that's what Armenia looks like. This article talks about things I’ve never heard about, like the Armenian alphabet, or having lunch in a restaurant with caged animals. The truth is I’m not sure I recommend Armenia as the perfect destination, but I do recommend this article as a good one!   More...

Peru 2006 - Lima und Huacachina
Submitted by pablo on 2006-11-13 03:52:44 (via volker.umpfenbach.de)
Latin America lovers, here is an article about a German’s tourist experience in Peru! Discover the new, clean, and touristy Lima and the impressive landscape, the sea, and scarce desert in the South of the country. Ever tried sand boarding? No one said it’s easy; you will most likely be covered in sand after any attempt. But it’s fun! Read more…

Women/Female Travelers in Turkey
Submitted by Adele on 2006-11-10 04:04:24 (via www.turkeytravelplanner.com)
So, can single women travel to Turkey and be safe? I wish I’ve read it before going there, however, I have to agree with all it says: most Turkish men are extremely polite – quite a surprise to me. But it’s good to know some subtleties, so that when you say "Get lost!" to him, it won’t have the effect of making you seem even more attractive ;O)

Climbing in New Zealand
Submitted by cleo on 2006-11-10 03:28:29 (via www.gdargaud.net)
Incredible! These guys are truly extreme adventurers: long and diversified trips, climbing the rocky Elie de Baumont and Malte Brun and then the scenic route to the top of the icy Mt. Cook. Alongside, strange spherical formations, obnoxious keas rock attacks, sharks and whales and finally the Mt. Tasman. This is worth reading.   More...
