Mountains of Snow, Mountains of Sand
Submitted by Adele on 2007-04-11 10:38:07 (via
Here is a place where you have exclusively donkey parking lots and row after row of donkeys are lined up. In the butchery section of the market, goat seems to be the meat of choice, and everything you need to build your own goat carefully strings out for display: livers, intestines, legs, whole heads. But there are more curious things to learn…

Inside the Glass Bubble
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2007-04-05 06:57:25 (via
No matter how much you hate a “package” travel experience, when in Kenya it might be the only option to see the wild life and it may turn out not too bad after all. Don’t be surprised of the libertine behavior of the animals – they are at their home in the wilderness and don’t care about your opinion.   More...

Victoria Falls
Submitted by bindero on 2007-03-30 07:32:44 (via
Do you know the meaning of the name of Victoria Falls in the local dialect? It is named Mosi-Oa-Tunya – "The Smoke That Thunders". That is because not only the river Zambezi pours over a cliff, but actually pours into a hole caused by a rift. The water then exits at the bottom through a channel, continuing its way further down. Splendid view!

Mlilwane Nature Reserve
Submitted by lisa on 2007-03-30 07:28:00 (via
Mlilwane nature reserve is a place where humans and animals are combined as a whole one. Every element of this picture only adds value to the whole system, and even 4x4 are seen here as an indispensable element, like for example, zebras and rhinos.

Here a very nice overview of a trip to Zambia with some information about hotels where you can stay. But there’s one thing you learn quickly in Zambia and Tanzania, if you ask if there is hot water, the reply is usually, 'yes' - but it doesn't mean that your room is connected to same!
