Here a very impressive article about a tourist that visited Bhutan during September11.2001. That day children did not go to school, because “the King has shut down the country so his people can light butter lamps for us, in mourning”...

The City of Kathmandu
Submitted by Amber on 2007-02-22 06:16:41 (via www.worldtravelstories.com)
Nepal seems to be a lot like India when it comes to living conditions. Kathmandu - a very exotic city, with a maze of streets and many young people pretending to be students, wanting to practice their English and show you around. Do you think that is for free?   More...

Come to My Wedding in Pakistan
Submitted by Laurentzi on 2007-02-21 06:28:59 (via buzz_777.tripod.com)

Did the boys at Bedford ever think this to be the fate of their trucks in Pakistan? When a truck falls off the side of the mountain the colorful decorations are salvaged first, of course.   More...

Mongolia Eagle Hunting
Submitted by pablo on 2007-02-09 06:09:01 (via www.boojum.com)
Mongolia has always been kind of a white spot on the map for me. “It’s halfway around the world, across cultures, and back in time”. There is so little information about this country, so few tourists going there… Still, when reading this article, I more understood about the living style and the people’s philosophy. Quite intriguing!   More...

Journey to Taiwan, May 2002
Submitted by roxy on 2007-02-09 06:04:01 (via stason.org)
If you go to Taiwan, don’t miss a traditional Chinese massage. Here it's the man that do the massage and most of them are professional masseurs, compared to most amateur masseuses in Thailand which work in tourist places. Ripped off in India
Submitted by cleo on 2007-02-09 02:02:51 (via www.tripsource.com)
Ha! This is quite a story! I know I would not want to end up so, neither would I wish that for anybody else. There is a good lesson for all to learn: never let yourself be fooled by the Asians’ eagerness to help you and show you around. Of course, you shouldn’t become paranoid either – find the right balance.
