Ghana Vacations

If you are visiting Africa for the first time, make Ghana your destination. The people are very friendly and happy to welcome visitors to this fast-growing touristic country. Accra, the Capital, has lots of historical sites, museums and craft shops to visit. There are only a few nightclubs, but most bars put on live music. The slave-trade forts at Cape Coast and Elmina are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Go for boat rides on Volta River and Lake and visit the beautiful Bosumtwi Crater Lake which was created by a meteorite a million years ago and is considered sacred. Other places to visit are Kakum and Mole National Parks, the palaces at Kumasi and the Botanical Gardens near Aburi. There are also lots of great beaches for swimming, snorkeling and lying in the sun.
