South Africa is a vast country with nine provinces and each one has its attractions. There are five UNESCO World Heritage sites including The Cradle of Humankind, where you can see humanoid fossils in the caves, and Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Most cities have township tours to places of particular interest. There are numerous superb parks with hiking trails in most of them. If you are interested in botany and natural beauty, visit the Table Mountain and the Garden Route – you won’t be disappointed! Tours are regularly organized to visit the Cape Winelands where you can taste some of the country’s best wines. Jeffries Bay is the place to go for great surfing and you can dive with sharks off Dyer Island.
