Tanzania is well-known for its National Parks, such as the Serengeti, but there’s much, much more to this country than wild animals. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town, which is full of historical buildings, museums, 17th century stone fort and lovely Forodhani Gardens where a very good night market is held. Take a trip to see the Stone Ages sites at Isimila Gorge and 30,000-year old rock paintings at Kolo. Tanzania’s beaches are among the most beautiful in the world and offer a large choice of water-sports. Climb Kilimanjaro (or a little of it), the highest mountain in Africa. Most towns and villages have markets and bazaars where you will find good locally-made items to take home.
