California State University, Long Beach, is set on 320 acres of land in Southern California about 30 miles south of Los Angeles. CSU Long Beach is truly a beautiful campus designed to meet student needs. The hilltop portion of the 332-acre campus overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Eucalyptus trees, 3,000 flowering peach trees, and fragrant flowering bushes lightly scent the air.
The campus has a library that contains over 1 million volumes, a bookstore, an Olympic-size pool, gymnasiums with the newest exercise equipment, a Pyramid that is an amazing 18-story structure for athletic events, the Karen and Richard Carpenter Performing Arts center, the Martha Knoebel Dance Theatre, an art museum, design studios, convenient parking and so much more.
Getting to know others, making friends and regular physical exercise are all part of a healthy academic environment at California State University, Long Beach. Several culture-specific groups and over 300 student interest groups exist on campus. A swimming pool, an outdoor running track, a full-size gymnasium, a weight room, and outdoor basketball, racquetball and tennis courts are available to all students. Athletic and recreation clubs are open to all students and place emphasis on physical activity with opportunities for competition, instruction and recreation.

You can enjoy surfing (minutes away), and camping, snow skiing and snow boarding, and mountain hiking are all within an hour and one-half’s drive from the CSULB campus.
