This teen summer program was created for 13-17 year olds who want to immerse themselves in Costa Rican culture, learn the language, and explore the country on the weekends. The program is taught by our professors, who have designed a syllabus specially for adolescent education, keeping learning fun, productive and very interactive. The activities, excursions and lodging are coordinated chaperones, whose patience and hard work will provide the teens with a safe, diverse and lively immersion experience into Costa Rican culture and the country itself.
Teens have the opportunity to live with a host family during the Heredia part of the program, and in a residence house with other teens for the Samara beach time. Combining both parts gives them the best of both worlds: cultural interaction with a Costa Rican family, followed by a fun communal living experience with the rest of the teen students.
In addition to classes, teens participated in numerous activities throughout their stay: Latin dance and cooking, film nights, bowling, horse-riding, kayaking, surfing, theater, sports, art exhibits, folkloric presentations, arts and crafts class, museums, waterfall visits, coffee plantation tours, volcano, beach and national park trips, salsa dancing at an under-21 nightclub, “intercambios” with local Costa Rican students, crocodile boat-trips, community service projects, and much more. What do the teens think of the program? One teen mom (Marianne Bechtle) wrote us, “"Clark hopes to come back next year, he says it is "awesome" !" Thank you”.
Our company is home to staff form Costa Rica, the US, Europe, and a variety of Latin American countries. All administrative staff is English-Spanish bi-lingual. All professors are native Spanish speakers and hold a university degree in Spanish.
After class, teens are kept busy with trips to many of Costa Rica's national parks, white-sand beaches, rivers, volcanoes and more. While in the program teens also participate in weekly Latin dance and cooking classes, trips to museums and exhibits, waterfalls, snorkeling, hot springs and much, much more.
Company's Teen immersion program is hosted at the school's Heredia (city) and Samara (beach) campuses. Both campuses offer students audio-visual equipment, internet, kitchen, and dance rooms. Both campuses offer classroom views (Samara of the beach and Heredia of the mountains).
