My name is Laurence. I am an independent private guide in Avignon and in Provence around Avignon, for walking and driving tours. I have both the government license for guiding and the transport license that allows me to drive you around in my own mini-van. I offer personalized visits, adapted to your wishes and interests, at your own pace, in the most comfortable conditions, and in a friendly atmosphere. I will help you love Provence as I do, discover it in a different way through an authentic experience.
I studied to become a national licensed guide, and continued with 3 years of art history in the Louvre school in Paris. I guided tours all over France and nearby European countries for many years, and more recently worked as a relocation agent. I have lived and traveled abroad and know what a difference a native perspective can make! I also speak Spanish and German.
I can also take you to less known places, beautiful natural sites, show you my favourite shops and restaurants, explain to you the window of a pastry shop, the local products on the market, tell you about daily life here take you to antique shops or stop at local handicrafts’ workshops, olive oil mills, wine producers… Theme visits can be about Roman monuments in Provence, gastronomy tours, Van Gogh’s stay in Provence, favorites of Peter Mayle… And if you want to go canoeing or horse back riding in Camargue, I know where to take you! I can also guide small groups in a minibus.
We will discuss and decide the itinerary together, the stops and visits you wish to do, according to the season and the events, to your interests and desires. Some places are better seen early in the day, others are livelier on market days...
My car is comfortable, air conditioned and well equipped for the excursions.
