1. How long has your business been operating, and
how did it start up?
Has been operating since 1989, by me under the name Bon Voyage
Specialty Tours in Fort Collins, Colorado, by offering bike barge
tours in the Netherlands. There was only one route and two ships available
those days to do these tours and they were not known in the USA.
2. What are the main attractions of your activity in the area you operate?
The main attractions are seeing the countryside and cities in a different way,
from a canal boat, which is also the hotel, and moves from city to city, and
from your bicycle, getting to know a small part of the country in depth.
3. What unique features do you offer?
Tour packages, including accommodations on board of a barge, all meals and
guide. Combination af barging and bicycling, sometimes a choice
between barging, bicycling and walking (combined with some public
transportation) with the help of two guides.
4. What do your customers appreciate in you the most?
My experience and knowledge of the country, the barges and differences
between the available tours. I have designed some of them myself, and helped
to improve them. I have been in this market from the start and saw all barges
being built, improved, renovated and knew the former and recent owners and
captains of all the barges. I have long term relationships with all agents
in Europe, ship owners and captains, sailed on the majority of these ships
myself, and lived in Holland more than 40 years and still visit at least
twice a year, to keep up to date.
5. Your have been an InfoHub partner since June 1999, how would
you describe your experience of working with InfoHub?
Extremely good. I have tried partnerships with different web sites, but
this is the one that followed up the best and performs the best and did not
go bankrupt, like many others, but has become a solid source of information and
referrals.
6. You have been quite successful in converting InfoHub referrals into
bookings. Our records show that you have been paying InfoHub $8.76 for
each referral. How would you explain your success?
By following up on people and knowing the tours I sell. Good knowledge
and the ability to answer and taking the time to answer all the questions
people ask you is half the work.
7. How do you follow up with the referrals InfoHub send to you?
By sending a personal email telling them what is available, if asked for
specific tours, and giving them possibilities of tours, if not asked for a
specific tour, referring to specific links on the web site and telling them
we are available to answer all their questions by email or phone and doing
that, even if it takes 10 emails or phone calls.
8. Is there anything else you'd like our visitors to know about your
business?
This is and will stay a family owned business with a personal touch and
our motto is: Soft Adventures for all ages. We have people as old as 90 and
as young as infants going on our tours and they all like their easiness and flexibility
and especially families like their affordability.
