Durmitor is inscribed on the world Heritage List in 1980. It is the one of the highest (2523 m) and probably the most beautiful mountain on Balkan and Montenegro. Durmitor is a strikingly beautiful natural park. Along the Tara River Canyon -The only rival to Colorado "The jewel of Europe" - with the deepest gorges in Europe, the dense pine forests are interspersed with clear lakes and harbor a wide range of endemic flora. There are 17 glacier lakes called "mountain eyes" in the area of Durmitor. The most famous is Black Lake, covered with ice and crystals of frozen snowflakes in the winter. You can swim in it in the middle of the summer. Between the steep hillsides or hidden in the green, thick foliage, are the magic beauties: Zmijinje, Barno, Riblje, Vrazje, Modro and the other lakes. Zabljak town is "moved up" to 1465 meters of the massive mountain of Durmitor. We will be settled in three star Hotels Zabljak or Planinka in Zabljak town. We will usually start our hikes from the hotel. Daily tours are ranged from 3 to 10 hours and one can choose between easier and more challenging option. Tour cost is 490 Euro that includes six nights in three star hotel Zabljak or Planinka with halfboard, five lunches, six days guided hiking tours and van support during the tours. Longer or shorter options are available. The tour is available from April to October

Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrival in Zabljak and meet your trip leader. This afternoon we will do short hiking and have opportunity to meet Durmitor mountain and its lakes. Just one kilometer from Zabljak town is the biggest and one of the most beautiful glacial lake - Crno Jezero (Black Lake). We will hike around the lake thorough pine forest.

Day 2:
We will hike to Ledena Pecina (Ice Cave). Ledena pecina is nestled on northern slopes of the highest Durmitor massif on altitude of 2303m above see level. This unique cave is not very long (only 70 meters) but its ice jewelries will fascinate you with their beauty.

Day 3:
Passing by Crno Jezero lake we will hike through pine forest. After one and a half hour stony landscape will replace forest and soon we will stand below cliffs where ice and snow stay all year around. We will make short brake by an alpine refugee hut and hike up to Uvita Greda and Medjed (Bear) peak - 2287m. From this spot you will enjoy beautiful view to Crno Jezero and Zabljak town below.

Day 4:
You will spend day in canyon of the river Tara. The canyon is the deepest in Europe and one of the most beautiful in the world. It is about 1000 meters deep with the deepest spot of 1300 m. between V Stuc and Obzir peaks. You can choose wild river rafting (optional, extra charge) or hiking by the river and the edge of the canyon.

Day 5:
Today you are ready to hike up to the highest Durmitor peak - Bobotov Kuk (2523 m). This magnificent peak will leave you without breath with its beauty. Today you will feel like an eagle in this magnificent mountain and we are sure that some times you will come back again to enjoy in rocky peaks, lakes, rivers and silent which you can experience only here.

Day 6:
After Bobotov Kuk we deserved a bit of rest. Therefore we choose to stay on the plateau and do a few hours hike through the forest. The path that goes on the gentle rolling terrain will lead us to Zminje Juezero lake. This hidden lake in pine forest and nestled below high cliffs is ideal place for picnic lunch.

Short hike around Zabljak town and depart afternoon after picnic lunch.
