Peaks and hollows of the Easter Sayan are called "Little Tibet" thanks to its snow lain mountains and high spurs. In Katherine time there were about 11 Buddhist temples and 150 lamas on this area. They opened schools, published books, their medicine was flourishing. Further it carried on like this – in the year of 1916 there were 36 temples and 150 lamas, in the year 1938-1946 – none and nowadays there are 12 temples.

Meeting with Baikal is a positive energy charge for a tired traveller. One day spent on the magic lake is worth years of travels!!! Travel to Siberian Rivera – Sand Bay and bath in its warm waters. See the Isle of Olkhon – the spiritual center of the Buddhists and Shamanists.

Your Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrival to Irkutsk City. Meeting and assistance in the airport. Transfer to your Hotel. Check in. Lunch in the hotel restaurant. City tour with the visit to the Cathedral of Holly Sign. Visit to the Museum of the Decembrists. Here you will feel the vibe of the 18-th century in Russia. Return to your Hotel. Dinner. Leisure time. Overnight

Day 2:
Breakfast and packing up. Departure to Kultuk Settlement (1 and a half hrs from Irkutsk) Stop on the observation point. Drive along the road that runs across the Tunkinskie Pinnacles with well-defined alpine relief in the North and downhills in the South. Arrival to Arshan Settlement. Accommodation in your Hotel or at host. Visit to a small Buddhist temple. Visit to the hot springs site. Dinner. Overnight

Day 3:
Breakfast. All day long hiking to the spurs of the Tunkinskie Pinnacles. En route see the splendid nature, waterfalls and valleys of Tunka downhills. Picnic lunch by the riverbank. Return to Arshan Settlement. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4:
Breakfast, packing up and departure for Sludyanka settlemant. Visit to the local Mineralogical Museum. Further travel along the famous CircumBaikal rail road. Board on "Motanya" – a local train with a few carriages attached that runs regularly along the circum Baikal railroad. Get off at Shumikha or Pine tour center built in wood and located on the shore of the lake. Accommodation and Russian Banya experience (2 rhs) Overnight.

Day 5:
Breakfast and a hike along the railroad to see the architectural wonders of the beginning of the 20-th century. Return to the camp. Lunch. Packing up and embarking on the boat for the transfer to Listvyanka Settlement. Enjoy the sale across Baikal waters (3 hrs)

Meeting on the boat station and transfer to your Hotel. Accommodation. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6:
Breakfast. A guided tour to the Baikal Ecology Museum. Transfer to the beginning of the headwaters of the Angara River to see the famous Shaman Rock and see how the locals sell souvenirs and smoke the endemic Baikal fish. Further transfer to Taltsy – the Museum of the Russian Wooden Architecture in the open air. Return to Listvyanka Settlement and lunch in a wooden water front restaurant "Proshli Vek" (fish and vegetarian menus available) Visit to the Church of Saint Nicolas the Wonderworker – the guardian angel of all the travelers in the world. Return to your hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7:
Early breakfast, packing up and departure for the boat station to start the aquatic part of our journey towards the Sand Bay (5 hrs sail) Upon arrival – visit to the bay and the neighboring Babushka Bay. A light hike to the Big Belfry Cliff located nearby. Return aboard. Continuation of the sale towards the Olkhon Isle. En route the sightseeing of the white endomorphic Sagan-Zaba Cliff to see the ancient rock paintings dated back to the 3 century before AD. Dinner and packing up. Arrival to Khuzshir Settlement. Transfer to the yurt camp. Accomodating. Overnight.

Day 8:
Breakfast. Time at leisure until lunch. Hike along the Khuzhir Settlement and the shore of the Saray Bay (4 km) See the Shamanka Crag - a sacred astral center for the locals, the Buddhist and the Shamanists. Visit to the Local Ethnographic Museum. Return to the yurt camp. Dinner. Russian Banya experience upon request (optional service). Overnight

Day 9:
Breakfast. A trip to the Khoboy Cape. located Northwards of the Isle. En route - drive through the Sand Tract (20 km Northwards from Khuzhir Settlement) Famous with its sand dunes that starch along for 3 km. Picnic on the shore. Return to the camp. Upon the request – meeting with the local "white" Shaman who conducts for you the right of purification and the communication with the passed away relatives (optional) Overnight

Day 10:
Early breakfast. Departure from the yurt camp. Transfer to the ferry station for the ford to the mainland and the further trip to Irkutsk City. En route stop to starch your legs and have a snack in the local café. Upon arrival we transfer you to the railroad station/airport to depart for Moscow.
