This fabulous 12 / 15 day honeymoon tour starts with a three night stay in lovely San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, Belize to relax after the wedding before heading to the rainforest for a five night inland adventure tour including 2 days over the Guatemalan border to the most magnficient of all Mayan ceremonial centres in the heart of the Tikal National Park. End with a wonderful stay of 4 or 7 nights on one of the islands in Southern Belize with first class scuba diving and snorkelling.

Rates includes all accommodations, transfers, tours, guides and domestic flights. Many meals are also included.

Your Itinerary

Day 1:
"LA ISLA BONITA" - "THE BEAUTIFUL ISLAND"

On arrival at Belize International Airport connect with a short (15 minute) air taxi with spectacular aeriel views of the Belize Barrier Reef en route to San Pedro on the lovely island of Ambergris Caye - made famous by Madonna in her song "La Isla Bonita" - "The Beautiful Island".

Relax and unwind after all the hustle and bustle of your Wedding Day during your 3 night stay in San Pedro which is laid-back and friendly.

Choose between a Honeymoon Cabana at Captain Morgan's Retreat, a Casita at The Victoria House or a deluxe room at The Sunbreeze Beach Hotel. Breakfast daily is included.

Enjoy a Belikin Beer in any number of beachfront hang-outs and thatched roof bars or a gourmet dinner in a first class restaurant. We have not included lunch and dinner in San Pedro so that you can have the freedom to choose from the many excellent island restaurants.

Do it all or do nothing at all on this sun-drenched island where even the palm trees sway to the beat of Punta Rock and Reggae music!

Day 4:
OFF TO THE RAINFOREST!

Short flight back to Belize City where you will be met on arrival and transferred up the Western Highway to the beautiful rainforest area of San Ignacio near the Guatemalan border with a stop along the way at the small and informal Belize Zoo.

Next a visit will be made to Xunantunich which is reached by crossing the Mopan River by and-cranked ferry. Time to explore and climb the ruins which are great for panoramic photographs.

2 night stay in a thatched cabana at a comfortable jungle lodge. Choose between:

Cahal Pech Village (Standard)

Chaa Creek Cottages (Deluxe)

Accommodation are in comfortable cabanas with private bathrooms (hot & cold water), electricity, ceiling fans and a private porch or balcony overlooking the surrounding countryside. Excellent home-cooked meals.

Day 5:
WONDERS OF THE RAINFOREST

After breakfast call in at the Panti Medicinal Trail at Ix Chel Farm, which is right next door, to learn about the medicinal properties of rainforest plants.

Your canoe and guide will be waiting so you can

enjoy a relaxing trip down the Macal River where

you will see iguanas sunning themselves on the overhanging branches along the river banks.

When you arrive in San Ignacio, you are in for a real treat! The Mysteries of the Underworld . . .

Next is an adventurous drive towards the Mountain Pine Ridge area from where your guide will row you deep inside Barton Creek Cave (about 1 to 2 miles depending on water levels). Sit back, relax and direct your 1,000 candle lamp at the amazing formations inside the huge cave believed by the Maya to be the Underworld, "Xibalba", (pronounced SheeBALba) the Kingdom of their Gods. Float under stalagtites, see ancient skeletons and pottery and prepare to be awstruck by cathedral-like caverns. Marvel at the 5 million year old crystalline structures over 50 feet in ength as your friendly guide shares his incredible knowledge with you about the Maya's beliefs about the underworld.

Day 6:
TIKAL, GUATEMALA

This morning you are off on an exciting three day / two night tour over the Guatemalan border.

Hidden for 1,000 years in the midst of tainforests teeming with wildlife are enormous ceremonial cities with magnificent Temples and Pyramids built by the mysterious Mayan people.

THE TEMPLES OF TIKAL in the Peten region of Guatemala is the most fabulous site of all! Overnight at the Jungle Lodge Hotel, situated in the heart of the Tikal National Park.

Imagine the ceremonies where human sacrifices were offered to the Gods. Listen carefully and you will hear the still-beating heart of a dying Civilisation . . .

Day 7:
LAKE PETEN ITZA, ISLA FLORES

The adventurous can get up early to watch the sun rise from the top of Temple IV. When you are ready you will be driven to the island of Flores on Lake Peten Itza. After a delicious lunch on the shores of the lagoon you will njoy a relaxing Boat Ride on the Lake.

There are dozens of little shops to explore on the island with excellent hand-woven fabrics from the highlands and locally made handicrafts. Overnight at the La Casona de la Isla Hotel on the island of Flores.

Day 8:
SOUTHERN BARRIER REEF BLISS!

You will be transferred after breakfast to the airport at Flores for the morning flight to Belize

City. Connect with a short (20 minute) commuter flight with spectacular aeriel views of the Belize Barrier to Dangriga in Southern Belize.
