John Olivas is a registered guide and outfitter in the State of New Mexico and is a native of New Mexico. John specializes in Outfitting in New Mexico. He has hunted elk and mule deer with both a bow and rifle for more than 18 years and now hunts exclusively with a bow. John has spent many years observing and gathering information about the various species he chooses to take, and his knowledge of their habits and natural habitat is next to none.
John holds an undergraduate degree in Biology and has received a Masters degree in Environmental Management and Life Sciences. His thesis was on the Spacial and Temporal Dynamics of Mule Deer in northern New Mexico. His close association with federal and state agencies allows him access to crucial information pertaining to big game and their management schemes.
Guiding experience, attention to detail, knowledge of the animal and familiarity with the area are the keys to help assure that your hunt is a success. Guaranteed landowner elk tags are available for an additional fee for those individuals who are unsuccessful in drawing a public tag. All our big game species are huntable throughout the entire state of New Mexico. Some species are more abundant in different areas in NM, and we target those areas for your success.
Offering: New Mexico Elk hunting, Deer, Bear, Cougar, Big Horn, Turkey and Antelope . Hunt throughout New Mexico for big game. Our Elk herds are healthy with some large mule deer walking the woods. We will assist you in drawing a public elk tag in the lottery.
