Welcome to my Walking and Hiking Tours (Established by Joyce Byrne in 1994). This is the Ireland of my dreams and, I hope, yours. On your hiking/ walking journey through Ireland you will encounter wildflowers in abundance, amazing scenery, and quiet sheltered trails as well as open, empty wilderness. There are endless photographic opportunities with excellent light quality and unique cloud formations. There are birds for the watching, rest stops for the taking and fine meals at the end of your perfect summer days.
I can promise you: we will not be part of any tourist trail, or the "sheep following" mentality. You will enjoy the wide, sweeping expanses of Ireland's beaches, her lonely mountain trails, her windswept hills, her pretty, colorful villages, the soulful air of her traditional music and the warm, smiling welcome of her people.
My aim has always been to offer quality not quantity, so my hiking / walking tour company remains small but perfectly formed! I hope we meet this year, but if not, maybe one day in the future.

Welcome to my Walking and Hiking Tours! We offer the walker a choice of carefully planned guided Irish tours of from 7 - 15 days duration.
1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
Our company was established in 1994.
2. What is your company's mission?
M10388 is a small company and therefore we are able to offer personal attention and quality service combined with many years of experience in guiding small groups around Ireland.
3. What does your company specialize in?
We specialise in guiding clients to in quiet, remote locations with professional guides, staying in quality accommodations, with gourmet meals at the end of the day.
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
Joyce Byrne, founder and owner. 3 years experience working for travel company in the United States, 17 years running M10388.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
"Into the west 7-day guided hiking" package. This tour covers the quintessential Irish West inlcuding a 2 night stay on the Aran Islands, 2 nights in Connemara, a visit to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren Region of County Clare.
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
This is what I believe makes a guide most valuable - someone who knows the ancient roads or the trails not marked on any map, that lead to uncommon and spectacular vistas. Views that other visitors are not fortunate enough to see. I feel grateful that I will take these views back with me.

I didn't realize we would have a tour guide assigned to us for the duration, and Pierre was delightful, interesting and eager to see that all were cared for. The food prepared by our hosts was out of this world PLUS, I could go out and pick figs from the tree by the pool each day to include in our 'short picnic' lunches. It was very difficult to leave. Nonetheless, I have the most wonderful stories to regale family and friends with, and my own never-forget memories. (Wine and Walking in Provence, September 2011). |
