In 1994, Peter Sommer walked 2,000 miles across Turkey, retracing the route of Alexander the Great, and in the process fell in love with the country, its people, and its ancient civilizations.
A British archaeologist, film-maker, and highly experienced tour guide, Peter created M11305 in 1996, offering unique escorted tours and cruises in Turkey. A UK-based specialist travel operator, we provide a select number of holidays and vacations with a professional and above all personal touch. All our archaeology tours are personally led by Peter.
Peter Sommer has worked on some of the most highly acclaimed BBC/PBS/CNN history series. These include In the Footsteps of Alexander, Millennium: A Thousand Years of History, and Commanding Heights: The Battle for the World Economy. His most recent series, Tales from the Green Valley, about life on a Welsh farm in the year 1620, was shown on BBC2 in the autumn of 2005.
