1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
M11466 has been open since October 1997 and it started with four people passionate about creating a spiritual oasis - an environmentally protected area, a loving, friendly haven where people of all origins and walks of life could come to rest, rejuvenate, and reestablish a healthy connection with nature.
It started as an idea, a “project,” and from the very beginning M11466 took on a life of its own. It became a living entity growing at its own pace, defining its own rules and creating its own very unique character. We, the initiators, builders, owners and promoters of this wonderful creation, found ourselves as instruments of a power greater than our own capabilities, tools of what wanted to manifest in this remote piece of Caribbean rainforest.

Our mission is to provide an unforgettable destination for responsible travel while improving the well being of the local population. We seek to demonstrate that personal wellbeing and health can be successfully combined with high standard in sustainability. Working with the Costa Rica’s Certificate for Sustainable Tourism (CST) ,been member of the Responsible Hotel of the World and of different world wide organizations like: TIES, Sustainable Travel International and Responsible Travel, M11466 is the best Sustainable Tourism Hotel in Central America.
3. What does your company specialize in?
Samasati Nature Rereat is specialized in individual adventure vacations, individual wellness vacations and Yoga Retreats.
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
The four founders of Samasati Nature Retreat and of its parent company originate from Italy and Argentina: Billy, Chiara, Max and Silvia. Their combined visionary acumen; administrative, marketing and construction skills; depth of experience in yoga, holistic therapies and meditation’s practices; and intense desire to create an energy-filled, protected place for solace and reconnection created a formidable team – a group of people fervently committed to seeing the project to completion and fruition.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
The most popular travel package is “Yoga in the Caribbean”. It is very complete as it includes Yoga classes (for all levels), excursions, massage and free time; it is a wonderful way to explore the South Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica.
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
"Our stay at Samasati Nature Retreat was absolutley wonderful. It was heaven. I can't imagine a more wonderful place to wake up with the sounds of the rainforest, the birds and even the loud monkeys. The food was delicious...we still drool over it when we talk about it...can't wait to buy the cook book if it ever comes out. Our yoga instructor was fabulous, she was so soothing and yet challenging at the same time. The staff were so friendly and nice, we loved the girls at the front desk, and the men who drove us up and down the hill every day couldn't have been sweeter. We have been raving about this holiday to everyone we meet and hope someday to come back. Samasati is indeed a gem in the world."

Samasati... even saying the name brings back such wonderful memories! In one week I managed to experience exciting adventures and warm hearted people, brushed
... view more up on my Spanish with the locals, ate delicious wholesome food, lived at one with nature at its finest, practiced enriching yoga and meditation and so much more. It was truly enriching and I recommend it highly. So if you find yourself searching for a unique and glorious yoga/adventure vacation, do yourself a favor and contact my friends at Samasati. But beware, by the end of the trip you may find yourself longing to extend your stay .... the laid back, easy going Tico lifestyle is addictive and the folks at Samasati make you feel like it's your home! |
