M11918 is the Southernmost, Big Five, and private reserve in Africa - Malaria Free. This award-winning African adventure stretches along the Bushman's river, halfway between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, and forms a natural extension to the famous Garden Route and Cape Town. An unforgettable conservation effort coupled with responsible tourism and the most luxurious means of experiencing your Big Five African Adventure.

Accommodation is offered in six separate luxury lodges. Long Lee Manor, offerings a distinctive Colonial experience. Bushmans River Lodge is a unique historical site with its 4 suites decorated in an artistic African theme. Riverdene Lodge is a restored settler's lodge with 9 suites, all en-suite with air-conditioning, Satellite TV, telephone and small lounge area. The ethnically decorated Lobengula Lodge with its thatched roofs is tucked deep in the valley bushveld. It offers 12 guests a tranquil, luxurious and exclusive getaway as well as a wellness centre. Bayethe Lodge is a 5-star, luxury lodge comprising of 9-tented suites. A magnificent bushveld-type lodge made of stonewalls and thatch, accommodates the lounge, dining room, an outdoor banquet boma, swimming pool and viewing deck overlooking the Buffalo River, a tributary to the great Bushmans River. The magnificent stone and thatch Eagles Crag, with its own wellness centre offers nine detached suites, each with private deck and plunge pool. The lodge has dining deck, outdoor boma area and large lounge. All suites have spacious bathrooms with two vanity basins, separate indoor and outdoor showers.

Hamwari’s highly trained game rangers conduct morning and evening game drives where amongst other things current research and conservation projects will be introduced. The Reserve is home to the Born Free Foundation Centre providing a sanctuary for big cats that have been rescued from captive conditions and are rehabilitated for future possible release. The Reserve has a complete wildlife research team as well as it’s own anti-poaching unit.
