Our resort, a luxurious 5-star hotel, is opened since March 2002. The construction of this exceptional venture was started in September 2000. The French architect Michel de Camaret developed this project in 1998, conjointly with architect Miguel Mallaguerra who lives in Madeira, and architect-decorator Didier Lefort (who decorated the Datai hotel in Malaysia and the Meridien hotel in Bora Bora among others).
The location of our company is a serene area equipped with the most demanding lovers and seekers of leisure and wellness in mind, offering innovative methods of relaxation, massage and treatments. Rasul (exfoliation) aromatherapy, hydro massage, relaxing / revitalising baths, a genuine Turkish bath and a sauna will be available here. You will be able to have a nutritious light meal or tempting diet snacks without having to worry about calories!
Our concept fits perfectly into the “expectations and tendency of Madeira’s tourist supply, specified in the Tourism Development Plan for Madeira. Some of the rising tendencies described are: selective tourism in small and medium units with outdoor entertainment and nature.
The main features of the buildings are wood and stone, comprised of 34 bungalow-style units, built on pillars. There are 59 double rooms and 4 suites, surrounded by sumptuous gardens and two larger buildings in which other amenities are situated. M12219 is a serene area equipped with the most demanding lovers and seekers of leisure and wellness in mind, offering innovative methods of relaxation, massage and treatments.
M12219 has established a consultation program with KPMG for the development and implementation of Environment systems and Quality (ISO 14001 and ISO 9002) while the project was under way, which is a positive aspect particularly regarding tour operators and naturally in relation to its future clients. The recognition of Madeira’s Laurissilva as world heritage by Unesco once more reinforces our idea of including the Laurissilva in the landscape architecture project of M12219. |
