Built by the famous local family of Horace and Augusta Tabor in 1879 (he was Lt Governor, she the first woman in many of the goldfields) the Queen Anne style Victorian home was then on the edge of the city, now the edge of downtown. It is a stop for the Denver history tour, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Now it is home to Denver’s first urban bed and breakfast inn opened for guests in 1987.
Step back in time. Enjoy the grand oak staircase, the rare 35-foot open turret, the quaint but comfortable guestrooms, the sturdy antique furnishings, the music, greenery and flowers throughout, the cheerful waterfall in the parlor, the original murals covering entire walls in three rooms, the sunny garden patio, and the old fashioned welcome and hospitality for which Denver, the West and this Inns owners, the King Family, are well known.
