Our 10 day stay at Kosrae Nautilus was one of the best holidays we've ever had. The hotel is like an oasis considering the island is so remote, the staff ... view more and owners are so friendly and helpful, and the island is like traveling to another world. The shear lack of other tourists was wonderful, but the tours that were still available were surprising. To be able to see an island that isn't touristy, but is yet as beautiful as you could ever imagine one being was such a privilege. We felt like we arrived 20 years before the crowds. We've dived other Micronesian islands, and they all have there features, but Kosraes hard corals are better than any photos that we've ever seen from anywhere. The visibility is excellent and marine life abundant. Doug's dive boat only takes six divers, so over crowding wasn't a problem. The personal service, and coming away feeling like a friend of the owner was something that that we haven't experienced before. Kosrae and the Nautilus Resort is definitely on our list of places to return too.

2  Ken & Gizzi Felt like one of the family 2008-08-20
Thank you for your kind hospitality during our visit to the Nautilus. We felt very welcome, like one of the family. We both truely enjoyed our diving with Doug, ... view more your son Josh and Salik. The reefs in Kosrae are the most pristine reefs with the most copious amounts of marine life we've seen. We also both feel that Doug and his dive staff were really great to dive with. We are only sorry that we didn't bring an underwater camera to capture the experience. All our best to you and everyone at the Nautilus. We hope we will see you soon.

3  Lenora Borchardt & Anne Brooks Terrific visit 2008-08-20
We had a terrific visit to the Kosrae Nautilus Resort! Doug, Sally and all of the staff were terrific and treated us like part of their extended family. The ... view more island was very relaxing and they gave us lots of recommendations for great and varied activities and interesting local guides. Anne also decided to try diving for the first time and was a little apprehensive but Doug was a fabulous teacher and they had two wonderful ocean dives. The food, facilities and services are great and I couldn't imagine any way to have had a better time on our vacation there. Thanks again!

My wife and I would like to thank you for making our stay on Kosrae very enjoyable. Your hotel is the best place to stay on the island. Our room was comfortable ... view more and all we could want. The restaurant was very good and all the staff very friendly and helpful. We appreciated your suggestion for things to see and do on the island and your making the arrangements for renting a car. We would recommend the Kosrae Nautilus Hotel to anyone visiting Kosrae.

5  Ross & Di Places like this are special to us 2007-06-01
We've traveled to over 25 countries and the island of Kosrae has to be one of our favourites. It's stunningly beautiful and the locals are some of the ... view more friendliest you'll find anywhere. We like to surf, hike and get adventurous. It was a real treat being able to enjoy these pursuits in a paradise that is not yet spoilt by tourism. There's just enough services to keep you happy but hardly any other tourists around. Places like this are special to us. And Doug and Sally from Nautilus are the perfect hosts. We really enjoyed our time there and hope to get back soon.

6  Marc & Stace Jones Second visit 2007-06-01
Our second stay at the Nautilus was for three weeks' vacation in July 2006. We can't begin to express our delight with the resort, the staff, and ... view more especially Doug & Sally. The customer service, attention to detail, accomodations and grounds are outstanding. We were even treated to a completely customized wedding anniversary dinner organized by Sally, Leah & Doug. We kayaked the mangrove, took the circle island tour, snorkeled, hiked and swam with the dolphins. Kosrae and The Nautilus truly are very special places.

7  Chuck & Julie Feinberg We will be back soon 2007-06-01
We returned to Kosrae after spending two diving days last year. This year because of circumstances we were forced to surf the web hoping to find a resort with ... view more diving so that we could dive the pristine hard corals that surround Kosrae. Boy were we lucky! The Nautilus Resort blew us away. Our mind was set on a simple, basic motel where we would stay while we dove with the resorts dive team. What we got was a beautiful manicured resort with palm trees, a huge super clean room air conditioning that really worked and a many channeled T.V. and a great shower. We even got internet access for a small fee! Now add on the addition of a beautiful swimming pool and you get something totally unexpected. It was a pleasure hanging out in our room if it rained, swinging on a covered swing or having drinks under a covered patio. The food was more then expected and the mangrove crabs were to die for. BUT we came to dive. Doug's fast dive boat is just three minutes away from the resort! Doug and his son Adam run the underwater show. My wife and I (800+ dives each) had just spent seven amazing days diving the deep wrecks of Truk Lagoon. Kosrae was supposed to be an add on. Something relaxing before going home. We did remember the amazing hard corals but with Adam's help we saw more pristine and unique hards coral then even on our trips to Papua New Guinea. Add on spotted eagle rays, turtiles, sharks, schools of chevron barracuda and the chance to snorkel with a pod of over 100 playful dolphins and you get some of the best diving in the world. We were there for six diving days and we will be back soon. Short distances, high fills, a great ladder and professional dive masters made for a memorable trip. This is truly a family run operation. The family lives on the premises and is always available with a smile.

8  Alexandra & Harry Our stay on Kosrae was unforgettable 2007-06-01
On our trip to Micronesia our first stop was for 5 days on Kosrae. In our friends circle nobody knew where Kosrae was. After our visit to Sally & Doug and ... view more their staff, a lot of our friends now know where they must stay when they visit this wonderful island. Nice clean rooms with good beds, perfect food, nice beach, wonderful canoetrips starting from the hotel garden into the mangrove forest where you think you are all alone on a tropical island. All these things combines with the very friendly and helpful staff have made our stay on Kosrae unforgettable and a wonderful introduction to Micronesia. Sally & Doug..thanks again..we'll be back!

9  Michael Goldman Very relaxing 2005-01-25
A very peaceful island. Amazingly lush & green. Hiking through the jungle was a real experience as the guide machetted away the vegetation that had quickly ... view more grown over the path.
The staff & facilities at Nautilus were just what I expected on a tropical island. Nothing was too much trouble. Definately worth another visit in a couple of years.
