Located within the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands area - a world heritage site - lies a neat, rustic bush camp called M14310. Through its years of operation at the highest standard it has been accredited as a 5 star PADI IDC Gold Palm Resort.
Sodwana Bay is South Africa's most popular dive destination with 1200 species of fish and a diverse array of hard and soft corals. Dolphins and turtles are also regularly sighted over this reef system. Seven mile reef is considered to be one of the best dive sites in the world.
Whale sharks and Ragged-tooth sharks are often seen as well as whales returning south with their calves close behind (in season).
Dive courses, which are conducted by experienced staff members in Sodwana Bay's only heated training pool are offered through out the year. These range from Discover Scuba Diving to Dive Master in addition to a variety of specialty courses.
A wide range of accommodation is available, from safari tents to pacious en-suite cabins to which red duiker make an early morning visit.
There is a strong traditional Zulu presence in and around Sodwana Bay, from the nearby African market to the names of the many game reserves to which day trips can be arranged. Other local activities include deep sea fishing, micro-lighting, horse riding along the beach, quad-biking, snorkelling and bird watching. |
