Our Mission: To give every single camper a safe place – physically and emotionally ... .. For children to learn activity skills, and “friend” skills ... And go home more skilled and more confident ... A camping experience rich with caring, learning and respect.

Our Philosophy: We believe in:
- the camper's ability to pursue his/her own chosen interests
- the importance of individual achievement, and
- giving attention to the individual needs of each camper

Individual Choice: Some camps send campers to pre-scheduled activities: Not Arowhon. Every camper chooses his/her activities, every morning, for that day. So... You can do everything or focus on your favorites (which may change!) The only option not open to a camper is inactivity. We believe that an active camper is a happy camper.

A Small Community: M14518 is a community small enough that everyone knows you, and celebrates your triumphs: 250 campers and 125 staff. Our campers are girls and boys ages 7 to 16. Home away from home where kids find - inside themselves - skills and strengths they never knew they had.

Low Staff-Camper Ratio: A safe children's world with one trained counsellor or instructor for every 2.2 campers. One Junior Counsellor and one Senior Counsellor (who is 19 or older) live right in each cabin with eight to ten campers.

A Counsellor In Training (CIT) is a 16 year old camper who wants to make a commitment to becoming a leader and working with children.
