Questions and Answers
M15000 is a Nunavut 5-star resort, located 500 miles north of the Arctic Circle. A world-class beluga whale observation site, M15000 offers access to hiking, kayaking and more.

1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?

M15000 was bankrupt and had been sitting empty for three years. We visited Arctic Watch for the first time in 1999. In our eyes it was a “five star hotel” in the arctic. It was a magical place. So many beluga whales, as well as muskox, birds, polar bears and historical sites. We saw the possibility to raft in the Cunningham River canyon and to sea kayak on the inlet. We started operating M15000 in 2000.

2. What is your company's mission?

We started M15000 because we believe that the Arctic is the most amazing place and everyone should visit it at least once in their lives. Most people, especially Canadians don’t realize how much of Canada is arctic nor how beautiful our Canadian arctic really is.

3. What does your company specialize in?

We are arctic specialists.

4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?

M15000 is operated by Richard Weber, Josee Auclair and their two sons, Tessum and Nansen. Richard is an internationally renown polar explorer. He has trekked to the North Pole more than anyone in history.

5. What is your most popular travel package and why?

Our most popular package is one week at M15000.

6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?

"Yet again, we are truely impressed with the quality of guides, cooks and of course hosts. A few long walks, cannot do justice to the beauty available in the high arctic. Drifting carelessly in a kayak with sunny skies and a breathless wind observing the whales and seals offered an early glimpse of what heaven may be like. A sincere thank you for another wonderful life experience!" "You have provided as awesome experience for us. What an amazing staff to have in an amazing and beautiful place. Words cannot truly express what a most wonderful time we have had. In two weeks we saw the arctic seasons, the animals and birds and the whales. Thanks again for showing your arctic home and gracious hospitality with us. It is absolutely beautiful and incredible here." "We had the best time with you this week! This is, without a doubt, the best vacation we’ve ever had. We will never forget you or this beautiful land. Thanks for everything."

There is no equal sound to the crunch of tundra underfoot, nothing fresher than clean ice cold water, no colors more beautiful than a carpet of saxifrage and ... view more the ever changing sunlit shades of greys, blues and greens of earth and sky and water meeting in a magnificent vista of rolling hills, waves and clouds. ... You made me feel like a part of your family and it was such a privilege to be a guest at Arctic Watch.

What a great time! The landscape, the hiking and kayaking were wonderful. The cabins comfy - but most of all you made it an amazing experience. The food and ... view more wine, the hospitality and fellow visitors exceeded even our high expectations. Arctic Watch is a very special place and a very special experience. We feel lucky to have had the opportunity to spend a week here. It is a week that will last forever!
