Our small groups, researched biking routes and relationships we have nurtured along the way ensure that our bikers can truly immerse themselves in the places we visit. Pedaling far from the tourist tracks, you will meet the local people, take the road less traveled and make your own unique personal encounter.

We have created personally guided and fully supported bike trips in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, New Zealand, South America and from 2008 China and Tibet, to get you up close and part of the scenery in these awesome countries. These are some of the fun, adventurous and at times challenging trips which will give you the holiday of your life. If you appreciate small group travel with personalized service and willingness to go the extra mile for your special trip, then M15202 is for you. We are a small personalized company and we aim to stay that way.

As well as our standard small group adventures, we are in a unique position to tailor-make special and one-off itineraries, from multi-week bike trips to beach breaks. Whether for large groups, charity organizations, sports clubs, family groups with children or corporate and team building events. So come and share with us the experience of dining by the campfire, camping under the clear African sky or biking and walking with the people and wildlife of our amazing planet.

In 1999 John Etherington’s dream became a reality and M15202 was born. Since then John has been working to develop relationships with people in far off places and grown our trips to what they are today. He is our trusty team and trip leader, bike and vehicle fix-it man, new trip dreamer upper-er and cuppa tea boy. Mandy Richards joined M15202 in 2004 helping to lead our trips in East Africa. Since then she has mastered the art of multi-tasking, not only running the office, answering your emails and taking your bookings but also getting out on her bike and amongst it on trips whenever possible.
Questions and Answers
M15202 - The gold standard in biking holidays in Africa, New Zealand, South America and Asia.

1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?

Began in 1999. With 100 years of family history in East Africa - in 1995 John headed to Kenya to discover his family's past and meet his many cousins. A couple of years on with many adventures under his belt John felt that he wanted to share some of the amazing places he had experienced. M15202 was born in 1999 with a single trip in Kenya and Tanzania and a single biker on board. In the following years our Kenya and Tanzania trip has evolved and grown. We have taken the time to fine tune the trip and now days we lead 6 trips during the East African dry season. With more of our bikers keen to return for another adventure with us, and our keenness to explore new places - we have since developed trips in Uganda, Chile, China & Tibet, Mexico and a summer season here at home in New Zealand.

With the best equipment, the best set up and the best leaders – offer fantastic riding, visit remarkable places, make memorable encounters and provide the opportunity for life changing experiences. Employ only the best trip leaders – who can live and breathe our philosophy and dream as well as adding ‘a splash of their own colour’.
