Conveniently located ten miles north of Boston, M15358 offers writing workshops, retreats and seminars using the Amherst Writers and Artists Method, which is based on the belief that everyone who can tell a story can write. Weekend retreats, one-day workshops and weekly workshops are added all the time.
Director Dale Slongwhite holds a B.A. in Communications from Atlantic Union College. As part of her course of study, she spent a full year interviewing New England writers. She is certified in the Amherst Writers and Artists Method (AWA) as described in the book Writing Alone and With Others by Pat Schneider and a member of PEN New England.
Dale has much experience as a workshop leader, group facilitator and public speaker. Of particular note - she has led numerous workshops and retreats around the country, including creative writing workshops for teachers in Florida, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Mississippi, and Missouri; facilitated a half-day writing seminar for writers in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; taught a creative writing course for eighth grade students in Stoneham, Massachusetts; and delivered the commencement address at Maxwell Academy in Nairobi, Kenya. |
