Hello and welcome to the M15758, we hope you will enjoy diving with us.
With effect from 1st May 2005, Steve and Wendy Hicks became the proud owners of SAFARI DIVING SL. After having visited the Island of Lanzarote many years ago and deciding then, that this was the best dive centre here, it became a dream come true when we actually bought the centre. We returned many years bringing students and dive clubs to teach diving and to enjoy the delights Lanzarote has to offer. The centre has the best location, as it is the only dive centre located directly on the beach - in a nice safe bay - so no long walks or bus rides to the dive sites in full kit!
One of our goals is to offer fun for the whole family!
The families of our clients have the possibility to enjoy the beach in front of the dive centre and the bay for snorkeling, swimming or learning to dive! Or trying our unique helmet dive experience - literally walk the floor of the ocean! There are also many shops, bars and cafes nearby.
We look forward to showing you the wonders of Lanzarote´s rich underwater terrain and the many other mystical attractions when you visit our beautiful island called Lanzarote - the all year round resort .
Safari Diving SL has a professional and friendly team, who speak, English, Dutch, German and Spanish! The team has remained here over the years and is very popular with returning and new clients.
Steve and Wendy worked as the UK agents for Dea and Rene, who started the business from scratch over 18 years ago, into the thriving business it is now, with many clients returning year and after year. Now Rene has decided it is time for retirement (any one who knows Rene will know that is nigh on impossible!) but he will remain a fundamental part of the team in the background as Technical Director.
Steve Hicks
Steve is qualified to P.A.D.I Dive Master, I.D.C., I.E. and became a P.A.D.I. Instructor. He also qualified as an S.S.I. Instructor and a PADI Master SCUBA Diver Trainer with many specialty courses. In the UK Steve was employed as an Engineering Manager but had decided that the offer to buy Safari Diving was too good an offer to refuse! His Engineering skills come in very handy and as well as diving and teaching, he also maintains the boats. A very busy schedule!
Wendy Hicks
She has been organizing holidays to Lanzarote for groups of up to 58 persons for many years now. Arranging flights, accommodation - through an ABTA approved agent, car hire, insurance and of course the diving! The complete package! Because Steve and Wendy know Puerto Del Carmen so well, they can ensure that the accommodation is of good standard and near to the dive centre. Wendy continues with all the bookings now that she lives in Lanzarote. Her role at Safari Diving SL is: Administration and finance, transporting clients and all the bookings for diving, flights and accommodation, and covering at the dive centre. |
