Owned and run by John Griffiths and Su Downham, MOTO AVENTURES was set up in 1996 as the result of an idea John had whilst spending two winters biking across Africa from London to Dar es Salaam. Born in Tanzania, John worked for the 16 years prior to M15830 in the oil related diving business. He has paramedic training and experience, and safety (a highly important issue in biking - one which is often not given sufficient attention) is one of his main concerns.
His job is to plan all the routes using GPS, compile road books, maintain "the fleet" to very high standards, co-ordinate guides etc., and generally run all the operational side of the business.
Su has lived and worked in Andorra for over 20 years. She speaks English, Spanish, Catalan and French fluently and has considerable experience in tourism and PR, as well as having run her own estate agency and building company in Andorra before M15830 was started.
She is responsible for all the administration, finding and booking tour accommodation and arrangements for meals etc., and generally making sure that all aspects of your holiday run smoothly and efficiently.
They were joined by Adam, John's son, in 2005 as a mechanic and guide, adding Danish and Swedish to their selection of languages. He is responsible for setting up our latest venture - The African Safari - while still guiding the off-road tours in Morocco. |
