Arenas del Mar is a venture developed with the idea of building a luxurious beach resort and sustainable tourism hotel based on the experiences and knowledge acquired from more than 50 years of combined experience in tourism. The principal directors and administrators are:
Glenn Jampol
President of the Board of Directors
Mr. Jampol is a well known consultant in sustainable tourism and is presently the owner operator of Finca Rosa Blanca, a highly awarded hotel for its role in sustainability and the winner of many prestigious awards from magazines and organizations for being one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. Mr. Jampol currently is a member of the board of directors of The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), Costa Rican Chamber of Ecotourism (CANAECO) and the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR).
Carlos Roesch
Member, Board of Directors
and supervising Administrator
Mr. Roesch is the ex Minister of Tourism for Costa Rica and has more than 30 years experience as the administrator of hotels, such as the Cariari and Herradura and Ocotal Resort. He is currently the president of the Costa Rican Chamber of Hotels (CCH) and a member of the EARTH council. It was in his tenure as Minister of Tourism that Costa Rica created the Certification for Sustainable tourism (CST).
Francisco Rojas, MBA
Architect and Project Manager
Mr. Rojas is a well known and respected architect and project manager in Costa Rica who has 20 years experience in the design of successful hotels, such as Finca Rosa Blanca, Tulemar Bungalows, Byblos Hotel, and is the principal and consultant for Spectrum, a company developed to advise municipalities on how to manage and develop their growth in a sustainable and harmonious manner. Mr. Rojas is also an expert in the design of sustainable hotels.
Hans Pfister and Andrea Bonilla
Co–Owners of Cayuga Hospitality
Mr. Pfister and Ms. Bonilla, both graduates of the prestigious Cornell University Hospitality School, have many years of experience and success with high quality sustainable hotels in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Currently they are the administrators and managers of Lapa Rios, one of the world’s foremost ecolodges and the along with Finca Rosa Blanca, the only other hotel with five levels of certified sustainability. They also manage the hotel Parque del Lago in San Jose, which since their tenure has achieved a four level ranking in the CST, an impressive feat for a business hotel.
Paul Lesniak
Board member and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lesniak is a successful business owner in Costa Rica and the United States and has many years experience in financial operations, having been a financial executive for Gore Corporation for many years. He also is dedicated to complete sustainable practices in the hospitality industry and has a vast knowledge of the unique financial challenges faced by a high level sustainable luxury hotel. |
